One thing I forgot to mention in my original comment is that sometimes in the second and third generation games, I'd capture a Zubat and raise it into a Crobat to use for flying around the region. I didn't do it very often though because happiness-based evolution can take a lot of time to pull of. Though it is easier to pull off during the game's storyline if you do it very early on. In Gen. 2 you can capture a Zubat on the way to the second gym in that one cave or in the Slowpoke Well. And in Gen. 3, a Zubat is easy enough to capture in that one cave on that island with the second gym.
That's kinda funny. Mines slowbro but I don't really use him much either. I like him don't get me wrong but I feel there's better choices now. Maybe since he evolves now I'll give him another shot but as it stands I don't really use him either.

Okay, so if I did this right, according to this thing I'm a Pidgeot. Ironically, that's a Pokemon I've hardly ever used in any of the games. I never had the patience to get a Pidgey to fully evolve, especially when I was in the middle of finishing the game's storyline. I'd keep one in my party until it evolved into a Pidgeotto and use it to fly around the game, but as soon as I got one of the legendary birds from the first two generations, I'd put the Pidgeotto in my PC box and maybe train it to evolve much later on. Heck, most of the time I'd just use a Spearow for my go-to flying Pokemon instead of Pidgey (the peck attack seemed to have more power than Pidgey's gust attack).

That's actually what I use in platinum for fly lol it did take a while to get though. Almost as long as it took me to get my Luxray.

Yeah, the mega evolution for Slowbro just seems kind of wrong. I mean in that form, the Shellder on its tail has almost totally eaten the poor thing.

I prefer Slowking to Slowbro myself. It's weird that Slowbro got the mega evolution.
