Dragon Ball Z is the first manga I read, but Fruits Basket is the first I finished, despite it being a bit too over the top and ridiculous near the end.
Indi showed me the Yu-Gi-Oh manga so that was my first. It was very startling since she also showed me a few of the episodes in the anime. O_O The manga is so different!
Yu-gi-oh was one of my first manga's I read. I don't read them much though. Unless there's a good difference or I really like the story, I don't spend the money on them.

One of my first manga's was Sailor Moon. It was kind of disappointing how some of that was left out of the anime. Same with Yu-Gi-Oh. But yeah, there's a lot of great manga out there that never gets turned into a show.

The first manga (singular) that I ever read was Vol. 1 of X/1999, because I love the anime. The manga didn't turn out to be such a good experience though, because the translation seemed muddled and more like a bad dub to a cheesy movie.
I gave up on manga until I became interested in Angel Sanctuary. The translation was lightyears better, the story was fascinating, and the artwork was beautiful.
