Almost as soon as Satomi walked off, Kimiko felt the creature move. She quickly performed a substitution jutsu. And just in time. Just as she was about to be impaled she vanished and a log took her place. She then appeared behind the monster with her dirk drawn, charged it with electricity, and slashed at her back with it. The creature snarled as her flesh was cut, leading Kimiko to believe it was time to separate from her.
"I'm going to really enjoy having you for a snack later." She snarled with an angry sneer.
Kimiko glared back at her. "Sorry, no can do sugar. I'm not on anyone's menu."
And with the same breath she brought her leg up to kick the creature in the head. She blocked easily enough. Raising her arm and using her wings to knock Kimiko aside. The ANBU's taijutsu wasn't as good as it could've been, but against the odds, she'll throw a kick or two in a pinch.
The two continuously hit and deflected each other, neither making a significant impact. But in the close quarters, Kimiko could see the creature was getting more and more irritated by the second. She knew that their situation wasn't going to be getting much better...
In fact they were probably going to get worse.
The monster pushed off of Kimiko and landed on the ground, performing handsigns and slamming her palm to the dirt. "Earth Style, Cavernous Cave!"
Before Kimiko really had time to think, she was encased in a small mountain rich in puzzling pathways and caverns. It was completely dark. She couldn't even see her hand in front of her face. Good thing she was a sensor type. Though the entire mound of rock had a weird feeling of genjutsu about it. And even if she herself was good at discerning illusions from reality, this one felt more advanced than any she'd come across previously.
"KIMIKO!" Satomi yelled from outside.
"I'M FINE!" The ANBU returned. Though, she wondered... was she?
