From Satomi's POV; Written by Satomi
Satomi immediately ran into the cavern that had surrounded Kimiko. The darkness was so thick, she almost felt like she was chocking on it as she went deeper into the cave. She let a small fire glow from her hand, but the light barely illuminated a couple feet in front of her. She quickly ran ahead, trying to find Kimiko and the creature.
Suddenly the sound of something rake across flesh echoed throughout the cave, followed by a grunt. She ran to where the sound was coming from and quickly did hand signs, blowing fire in that direction.
As she blew, she swore she saw illuminated glow of the creature's face before it disappeared. The fire quickly dissapated and darkness once again enveloped the area.
Gen...jut...su...?
She had dealt with genjutsu before, but this was on a level she couldn't fight. The darkness began to constrict her chest. It started to become harder to breathe, and pain began to shoot through her head.
"You're going to roast yourself for me?" The sound of the creature's voice rang through Satomi's mind. She could hear Kimiko respond, but the words seemed blurry at first...
"YOURSELF!" She could hear Kimiko scream.
Satomi opened her eyes and took deep breaths. I'm of no use standing here, I have to help...
She closed her eyes and concentrating, this time focusing on sensing the creature's chakra.
Right behind me!
She turned around and threw her fiery shiruken at the cavern behind her... nothing. There wasn't even a stir of air to give feedback on if the creature was there or not, or whether it was a part of her jutsu.
She could hear Kimiko's voice ring out again. "It's no use Satomi. We're stuck here in her trap."
The creature giggled menacingly. "That's right! I'm going to eat both of you you're going to be so yummy~"
Satomi closed her eyes. No... she can't listen to what they're saying. She's gotta fight. "No!" She yelled out, "There's gotta be something... something..."
She searched her mind for a list of jutsu she could perform to aid her while trying to ignore the darkness that kept compressing her chest and restricting her concentration.
Darkness... cats can see in the dark... She quickly summoned a cat.
"What can you see? Where is our enemy?" She asked frantically.
"Nothing. I see nothing. Where are we, anyway?"
Satomi swore under her breath. No matter what I do... I can't help Kimiko...she's going to...
She heard the sound of something spearing flesh, followed by a Kimiko's loud groan.
"KIMIKO!" Satomi shrieked. She's tried everything, how can she... no. She can't give up. There's got to be something... something... something...
She thought of the conversation she had had with Kyo not too earlier, and what she intended to buy with her money.
Of course, paper bombs...
As she stuck her best, most explosive paper bombs to her kunai, she heard the sound of a body hitting the side of a wall. "Satomi! Get out of here!" Kimiko's voice rang throughout the walls.
"I won't leave you here!" Satomi said as she threw the paper bombs and ignited them, the explosion lighting up the entire cavern to show nothing but walls... no beast at all...
"Well, you can both die here!" The creature's voice resonated throughout the cavern.
The cave began to collapse, large chunks of stone raining down all around her. She crouched to the ground, covering her head and closing her eyes, praying that they'll survive. "KIMIKO" She called out.
She could feel herself being grabbed and thrown. She could see light against her eyelids, and suddenly she realized what had happened.
Kimiko was risking her life to save her. There was no way Kimiko could get out now.
She opened her eyes and screamed, "KIIIIMMMIIIKKKOOOO"
"GET BACK TO THE VILLAGE YOU IDIOT" Kimiko yelled back as the last of the cavern caved in.
Satomi looked around for the creature, knowing it wouldn't have given up with defeating just one of its enemies.
It was resting on the pile of boulders, patting it happily. "I'll come back for her later, now that she's been tenderized~"
Using some of the last of her strength, Satomi threw some shiruken at the creature.
It dodged and suddenly appeared before her. Satomi desperately in her weapons bag for something to fight with. Nothing left...
The creature sneered. "Maybe I'll turn you into jerky~"
She tried to punch the creature, but it grabbed her fist as it looked in a different direction. "Looks like I'm needed elsewhere. You both get to live! Yay!" it said as it flew off.
Satomi looked over at the pile of rubble. "Ki...mi...ko..." She weakly stumbled over to it and tried to lift a boulder, but, depleted of chakra, her muscles failed her. She collapsed against the pile, her vision getting blurry before she completely blacked out.
