I know this post is kind of old, but I'll add in my two cents.

When it comes to commenting, I've slacked off in recent years. I guess it's because of several reasons. First, there doesn't seem to be as many different artists posting as there used to be. The ones that do post seem to post constantly, and therefore, get a lot of comments. I tend to avoid commenting on those because they get so many comments anyway.

I'd like to level the playing field, so to speak, but I've kind of chickened out on commenting on art that could use improvement. I don't want the artist to take my suggestions the wrong way and say, "YOU'RE SO MEAN!" I don't want a budding artist to feel like they're being picked on, even though I'm not actually picking on them.

I also don't comment on things without an artist's description. Who knows? It could be stolen.

What I do comment on are pieces that I can connect with. If I see something appealing or funny, I'll try to let the artist know that. It's just that these comments lack substance.

I will always comment on something that someone dedicated to me. If they put in the effort to give me a picture, I'll let them know that. I also tend not to critique those as much.

Another thing that I always comment on are entries to my Challenges. I've only made three Challenges, and got seven entries between those three, but I commented on every one of them.

Honestly, I wish I could comment more. I'm just kind of shy with critiques, even if I have a balance of what I like and what could be improved. I'm just afraid of what the artist might think.

It would be nice if more people did comment on as many images as they could each log on. Not spammy, obviously, but this is a kind of art community. So, why not? :)

You like seeing effort then. Haha, yeah. I get that. Sometimes it makes me pull faces when I just see '...' as the artist comments/description.

I comment on everyones art,worlds and wallies you name it..If they're popular or not It doesn't matter to me if they are or not..I will always comment, fave, and vote on every fan art I vist no matter how the drawing looks..

I comment becuase I love making people feel good about themselves becuase we all loves feedback..I comment becuase You are y friend and supporting you and everyones els is why i'm here

posts like these make me comment... hahahaha

I usually comment on works where something is written about it. Otherwise, I thumbs up and run.

Unless something about the work really catches my attention that requires a comment.

I do comment more on art/worlds of people I talk to, but I also comment on art generally if I like it. It is just something I enjoy doing. I know I really appreciate comments, so I like to comment on others work too ^^

I only comment when I am not lazy.... It depends on how I feel
