Yea, Jobbers do make it more watchable lol. Actually most of the matches i saw on WCW Saturday Night/Worlwide were better than matches on Nitro etc. lol. I remember Bobby Eaton, Greg Valentine, Silver King, Villano 1 -4, Lord Steven Regal, La Parka,Roadblock, Mike Enos, El Dandy. I also remember seeing Diamond Dallas Page make it pretty big on Saturday night too, He would Diamond Cutter the jobber, but it would be a solid match lol.
as for that book, i remember hearing about it, but i have never read it myself. i may have to check it out though :)
Good ol' WCW! I remember watching Worldwide late at night on syndicated TV with my brother when we were kids, before we got cable. One thing I'll remember about Worldwide was the amazing potpourri of jobbers plying their craft, like Bobby Blaze, Tim Carr, and The Amazing French Canadians. Now THAT was true enhancement talent! Wrestling today is lacking in jobbers, in my opinion.
On the topic of WCW, have you read The Death of WCW? It's a book by R.D. Reynolds and Bryan Alvarez. It's really compelling, and it gives a definitive opinion as to the man who truly killed WCW (although the answer is kind of a copout). If you haven't, you should check it out!
