Oooooooooh! If that is so, Tsu, you might have just sealed the bargain about me reading it ^^ There are fewer higher recommendations you could give. It'll be your fault if I get nothing done again today (I have that addiction too ^^ )
I stumbled on Midnight Secretary first then went looking for more of her work, devouring Kindan no Koi. You really, really do need to finish Midnight Secretary.
Yes Feel free to pm me for more vampire manga when you have time! ^-^
I haven't read Vampire Game of Bloody Kiss (although I've at least heard of them.) Record of the Fallen Vampire was amazing! I really need to reread that one because it's been awhile.
Pureblood Vampire... I think I'd seen a different manga with a similar title but not this one, so I shall definitely have to give it a read! (I have a manga reading problem... lol Its an addiction!)
I haven't finished Midnight Secretary yet, but I've read the werewolf manga by her (I can't remember the title right now) and O.o soooooo so great! So I do look forward to finally getting around to finishing Midnight. If you like Midnight Secretary you have to read Kurobara Alice! I have a feeling its right up your alley!
Hmmm..... which ones do I mention from my stash? Like you, there are a LOT, though unlike you, I don't have a lot of strict vampire ones. I have a lot of supernatural manga, which include vampires. I might ask for more of your list when I have more time to read. Also, Kira has recommended Record of the Fallen Vampire, and I have Vampire Game somewhere in my long list. However, here are three that you might not know.
Bloody Kiss by Furumiya Kazuko is a short shoujo manga. It's been a while since I've read it, but it starts when an unsuspecting girl inherits a house of 'ghosts'. She discovers that they are vampires, and the leader stakes a claim on her. At first he appears arrogant and self-serving, but the girl brings out the softer side he has hidden for so long. It's an adorable slice of life with a dash of supernatural.
The second oneshot after it is one of my favorites, too.
Next, Pureblood Vampire by Shouto Aya is quite a treat. It combines slice of life and bishies with mystery, moments of horror or darker grotesque shadows, as well as an unsuspecting romance. I discovered this story because I l explored the author, who does Barajou no Kiss. Her style of story is unique, and this one is no different. Pureblood Vampire is about a girl whose life is saved by a vampire leader; however, saving her has a price. She is no longer human and she is bound to the vampire who saved her life. He can only drink her blood, and as the story develops, there are more conditions to her new station of life, conditions her new master tries to protect her from. Yet she is determined to help and support him in his dark quest which makes it harder and harder for him to protect her from the darkness of his people.
That should give you the jist without any outright spoilers. It's a fairly new manga, and the updates are sporadic, but it is well worth the wait. Any of Shouto Aya's stories are worth the read. I love Barajou no Kiss and S.L.H. was quite a surprise, too. You get the bishie service with a very interesting, complex story.
My final recommendation is one of my top twenty mangas ever and the mangaka, Ohmi Tomu, is a genius and one of my top ten mangaka. Midnight Secretary is a josei or serious near-life mature romance. She is the best secretary of their company, and he is the unsociable and very-strict director that doesn't want her. Impressing him is something she can handle, but when she stumbles onto his secret that he's a vampire, even she, the perfect secretary, will struggle with the changes, both professionally and unsuspectingly, her heart. In this manga, vampires are a part of our society. Some things written about them are true and some are false. The director is a proud being and when he decides this human woman is his, he is unwilling to let her go, thus starting to mess with everything he has deemed true in his life. She is necessary to him but that is very different than love, or so he believes.
This manga is ingenious, unique, and vampires are done in such a way that has never been done before. The romance between them is also something very different than other romances, especially in this category, and it is only one part of the story. She's a secretary first, woman, next. He's a vampire, who deems humans of use but beneath him. Their interaction will mess with everything about both of them.
Ohmi Tomu is a master at taking the supernatural and shaping it into something new and fresh. Her werewolf romance is just as stunning a tale. I highly recommend both of them and really, really want the manga to be sold in the U.S. Though if I have to wait much longer after I go through my first wishlist, I might just give in and buy the Spanish of this series and learn Italian for the werewolf story.
There you go, Tsu. An essay of reccomendations. I hope they catch your interest. I should write a recommendation for at least the last two sometime. Maybe I will just use this blurb for it ^^
Haha no problem Karmira! I love doing these!
Thank you for commenting! It helps keep me motivated!
Oh I know so many vampire manga! To review them all at once would be too much so I stuck to some of my favorites in each genre. What are some of your favorites?
Kurobara no Alice is currently one of my favorite ongoing manga! I am so intrigued to see what happens next! And Crimson Cross is really just all around awesome! I just wish it was longer!
