You wonder if someone already came up with the name "exposed generation"?
Don't worry that your family doesn't agree with you. I have the same problem. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and they often make loud use of that particular right.

Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.
Yeah, I think you're right. It's just that in the "good old days" (in quotes because I didn't exactly live back then) People had more of a sense of family and stuff...
But you're right, people always were really into themselves.

Ok. So during the Revolutionary War, the Americans were going to capture Fort Ticonderoga from the British. When they had overcome the guard, one of them (sorry, I forgot the name) banged on the door of the sleeping British general and called to him through the doors. Now, what he later told people he yelled was, "In Jehovah's name, open the door." But what he really said, as reported by others there, was not so eloquent. Apparently, he actually yelled, "Get out of your hole, you (bad word) old rat!"
I just thought that was kind of funny. And I'm sure it isn't the first time someone edited history to make themself look better.

Well, I know a lot of it, thanks to my family's scrapbooks. The problem is, since this is like a sweeter portrayal of the family, I often get sappy stuff. It's like going to Epcot and seeing the Disney version of American history--cute, but they skip over all the bad stuff and make sure to only portray us well--I hate to say, it's not accurate. Same with the scrapbook. It depicts one guy as really amazing and brave. Well, he was--in fact, I can kind of see where I got some of my personality traits--but what the scrapbook doesn't say was that this guy was not very nice at all, not to his family. I know this from my father and from my aunts, not the scrapbook. Do even though it goes back generations, some things just got lost along the way. I guess that's how it is with all history. I can give some examples that I think are pretty funny, if you don't think a history lesson would bore you to death.

I'll try to draw them when I go home. That's where the scanner and art supplies are.
Yeah, airports can be prejudiced, I'll say that much, and I don't like it. Anyone who "looks foriegn" or talks with an accent is "randomly" selected for special screening. It must get tiring to be "randomly" selected for all that hassle every time you try to fly...ever since 9/11, prejudice has gotten so bad...
You want to try and draw one of them? Here's a description of Mothy/Aurora. She's six years old, small and pretty skinny. She has a rounder face, rounder nose, and wider eyes than her older sisters Lyssie and Bethany, because she's young. (Plus, she and Henry inherited some of their father's looks, unlike Lyssie, Beth, and Charlie). Her shiny black hair goes down to her waist. She has bangs. She's wearing a blue dress--not a particularly fancy one--and old, worn sandals. She's pretty pale, like most of her family. With others, she's energetic, eager to learn and do whatever they want to do. Truly, however, she prefers to be alone. When alone, she is content to sit still working on art, sculptures, puzzles and models. She also likes to go to high places and watch the world go by from her vantage point, and swing on swings. Need any more information to draw her?

The problem is, I can only really draw something if I'm looking at a picture of it. And since I invented my characters, there's nothing for me to base it off. Though I did mostly use characters that are real. (I changed their names).
That airport thing sucks. I fly all the time, and I'd hate that. So they won't let you fly with more than a couple ounces of liquid, but you get to take scissors through? Huh. Why were your parents so mad over scissors?

Thank you! Well, I used to do the arm-flapping thing while skipping. I've always wished I could fly, but for now, rollercoasters, skiing, and airplanes are the closest I can get. Though I plan to try skydiving, hang gliding, and bungee jumping. Basically, if it's terrifying and anyone with half a brain wouldn't do it, I'd find it fun. So I'm either very brave or very stupid. I had a white moth land on my forehead once. It stayed there for the longest time before it flew away.
Mourning lack of innocence? I tend to mourn lack of knowledge, the time when I wasn't overburdened with too many thoughts that only lead to questions...also, I miss the time when nothing was expected of me and when I could believe that anyone was my friend...
Yeah, if you drew them it'd be cool. I'd have to get a good camera, though, to post pictures...well, my birthday's coming up. But I'm already asking my parents for a Red Sox sweatshirt, and logo clothing tends not to run cheaply...maybe Mom's camera will work?

I'm not entirely sure what background I have. I'm from all over Europe.
