The swingset is where I go to both escape and [over]analyze life. Back and Forth.
As far as fictional worlds, my picks include, but are not limited to: Harry Potter, Disney, The Wizard of Oz/Wicked, Hey Arnold!, Dexter, LOST, South Park, Dr. Horrible, Buffy, and Avatar
Anime: Bleach, FMA, Fruits Basket, Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club, Hetalia, Chobits, Soul Eater and more. Not very obscure, but I'm a relative newb.
This post has shortened considerably in the 3x I've attempted to get it to work.
So you're now left with my fave parts of Pocahontas.
Enjoy.
I will not be around as I will be in the WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER.
First stop: Epcot, actually, and what better way to get into the Disney spirit? Right?
Well, I'm actually interested to see the different countries, namely Japan, surprise surprise, because I heard there was a little history lesson on how manga/anime came to be.
Why is she my favorite Princess?
As other Disney Princesses, Belle did not start out as one. She was from a little town, a quiet village, but she wanted more than that provicial life.
I think you could relate.
"Far off places, daring swordfights, magic spells, a prince in disguise!"
Belle is an outsider, ostracized for her strange behaviors like reading or being attractive. Like Belle, I too have a fondess of fiction. We use books to escape the highly stressful or utterly mundane day-to-day existance. She gets to live the dream, having her want for adventure and romance become her reality.
Truth be told, I'm living my own little dream. Check older posts for details on my trip to Epcot and THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER.
The word on the street internet is: Disney is in the works of constructing Beast's castle.
I know.
First place I go: the West Wing. You know you would too.
But that too is something I love about Belle, about most of the princesses. They don't just blindly obey, save the more 'classic' princesses. They have curiosity and exercise it. Even when they are imprisioned by a giant, hairy beast who specifically orders them to stay out of the West Wing. "IT'S FORBIDDEN!"
I always thought it was funny that we never learn Beast's real name in the movie. Even Belle has to yell out "Beast" towards the end.
I happen to know Beast's real name. It was confirmed in a video game apparently, and why they didn't use it in the feature film is beyond me.
I mean, c'mon! Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert has two!!
For your veiwing and listening pleasure, I bring you Darren Criss covering 'Belle'

So we begin:
Day 1 - Favorite Character
Rapunzel
It was rather tough. There are so many to choose from. So many that I love. But there are other spaces to fill. This character just clicked with me. She's funny, a rare princess trait, and her guy ain't bad neither
Life's been kinda Snape-ish lately. Maybe I'm still coming down from the high that was my Birthday weekend. I can't wait until I'm on the plane to Hogwarts...
Day - ???
Favorite Death Eater
Severus Snape
What an extraordinary character. In the end, he was atoning for his wrong choices that lead to the death of the woman he loved. His want for power, a way to have some control in his sad life, is a very relatable concept. He ended up choosing the Dark Arts over what could have been brighter life, as he was a bright man. But he would never have Lily to himself.
I've always equated the Dark Arts with muggle drugs; more for their power of corruption, but having studied how drugs have been used medically, I'm not sure what to compare the Dark Arts with. Perhaps just the dark path life can take you down if you let it.
Magical & Muggle Counterparts
Dementors - Depression
"Their mere presence sucks every happy feeling or memory from any human present, leaving only cold dark despair in its place"
Apparation - Driving (you need to pass a test to do both)
Voldemort and his Death Eaters - Any hypocritical supremest and the people misguided enough to follow, take your pick
Basically, it's just Jo's way of comparing the two worlds and showing that besides the awesome perks of her fantastical world, fundamentally, it is not unlike our own.
So, my question is: Is there a definitive Muggle counterpart to the Dark Arts?
It started out with a mysterious message outside my window. Following a cryptic introductory poem, there was a riddle waiting to be solved. After a series of tasks which involved math, logic, code-cracking and even digging something up in my back yard, I received the best birthday present since Deathly Hallows was released on my birthday in 2007.
Box after progressively smaller box was torn open to reveal an entirely ordinary copy of the seventh book. One more riddle led me to the very back of the book where I would find my HOGWARTS ACCEPTANCE LETTER!!!!
I, Paper X. Moon, will be leaving for Hogwarts, Orlando FL. August 4th and never coming back!
I just had to tell someone since everyone in my life hates me now since I get to go and they don't. :[
So, to sum up how I'm feeling, I'll leave it to a Disney Princess:
