A small talk on games I currently play...

A mayor and a scientist are standing on a volcano. The scientist says, "She's gonna blow." The mayor responds, "Forget about her, what are we gonna do about this volcano?"

Few little update things real quick:
First canoe race of year today, even though it was labeled as a 'practice race'. Three boats entered, my uncle and I came in second. Guys who came in first were those damn fast people from Wisconsin. Curse you, performance-enhancing cheese...

I've started watching FMA. I've been up to date on the manga series ever since the first volume came out, but the anime has been over for a long time now, and even started a new series. Since I wanted to be current with the Brotherhood series, I started watching FMA, which turns out to be very very very different from the manga. Good choice there. Very optimistically, I'll be able to partake in the next Otaku chat on Brotherhood.

Our Jazz concert at school is on Wednesday. We are so screwed. We were kinda rushed through the repetoire, and I have no idea how I'm gonna do any of the solos. One of the song's isn't even ready yet and has yet to be rehearsed fully. I'll post a video if anything good comes out of it.

K, that's done...

I noticed that I've never really talked much about games. If I could imagine going into any other lifestyle other than music, which I can't, it would be game development/pro gamer. It's a passion, to say the least. However, it's slight frustrating because I have no money to get anything updated, such as nextgen console or modded PC. So I'm playing a lot of relatively old games, such as CS:S, DotA, and Gary's Mod, and every now and them bring up HL2DM, TF2, CoD (the first one lol) and even Quake 3 or 4. I'm REALLY gettin into DotA. That is fun. I suffered from a FPS slump after I went through an MMORPG phase, or more accurately, WoW (don't worry, I played on a private server so I didn't pay anything or get 'addicted'. I can safely say that I 'beat it' tho.) So playing a strat game like DotA that doesn't require high-on-cracklike reactions is good for me.
Gary's Mod is fun. Kastom, I think you'd REALLY like this game. LOTS of physics. It's really cool because you can get creative with the stuff you build, and when you play long enough, you start to get into this thing called Wire. Now you're basically programming your props to do virtually anything. Really complex though.
As for the future of what will be on Ryu's pc, I've been meaning to pop Starcraft back in to prepare for the highly anticipated Starcraft II. And those bastards still haven't said a release date...but hopefully, I'll be ready. I'm also slightly interested in Sims 3. I played Sims 2 to the point where I had about 3 generations, then realized that while my sims were leading very successful lives, I was just sitting in a chair staring at my monitor watching these dudes walk around and do stupid shit. I stopped playing after that, also with the thought "I CAN'T BEAT IT, THERE IS NO WAY TO BEAT SIMS" going through my head. I played Spore, did all I wanted to in that game (travel to center of galaxy, talk to Steve, then find Sol System) then uninstalled it. So I'm kinda on weird ground with Maxis right now, as in, they're a waste of life, but potentially fun.
I really want a 360. Must...play...Star Ocean...4!! But at the same time, I want a PS3. Must...play...Metal Gear Solid...4!!! Also, the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts 3 will come out on PS3, whenever they decide to make em...I need a job. :(

I used the word I a lot in this post...I don't like that...Dammit, did it again!

Well, a farewell gift of this post will be a funny video I (shit!) found on somebody else's profile, and thought it was pretty funny, tho I (crap!) didn't completely understand it (never played Phoenix Wright, just heard a lot about it from Katana.)

Lookee what I got in mail today...

"Alright chums, let's do this. LEEEEEEROOOOOOYYYY JENNNNNNNNKINNNNNNNSSSSSS!!!!"

So, I got an envelope from the Midwest Animation Promotion Society. Gee, I wonder what could be inside?

Oh yea, legally, I'm all set. However, I'm not entirely ready. I'm cosplaying as L from Death Note (cause he's cheap), so there's a few things I need. They are as follows:

-Haircut/dye. He's got some rather unique hair, and to top it off, it's black. Can't wait to see other people's reactions when they think I've gone emo.

-Blue pants. This might actually be kinda hard. I'm tall and skinny, and American clothes sellers are used to short and fat. So I'll need baggy pants that can be held without a belt. I smell online order...

-Long white shirt. Easy.

As for anything else, L doesn't wear shoes, and just like any other day, underwear is always optional. >:D

Which brings me to my ending video of this relativlely short post. Hope you enjoy a little raunchiness. :D

The Bells of the Death Note

This is an article I wrote for the 'Justice Prevails?' Fan Word challenge. I hope you all enjoy! Note: This is meant for people who actually watched the entirety of Death Note, not just understanding the basic story. The Bells… ...

Back from the Crescent City

"Canada is like a loft apartment over a really great party."

Hey everybody, I'm back from New Orleans.

I have to tell you, I want to live down there. At the very least, I'm going to have to consider colleges in New Orleans, because that place is the shit. The weather was beatiful (tho not in a few months, lol) and the streets are gorgeous, or at least in the French Quarter. Everywhere else, evidence of Katrina was clearly seen, even four years later. But I'm telling you, the music in the streets, the friendly atmosphere, the parks next to the river...I want to be there. I would never run out of things to do outside down there. Not to mention that it's the birthplace of jazz, and music is everywhere, all the time. You think that's an exaggeration, but it's not, there is always some live music somewhere, and it's always so good.

But anyway, more on the trip itself...

The bus ride was not as good as I wanted it to be. I got put on a different bus from all my friends, so I had sixteen hours there of no fun, and sixteen hours back of no fun. Meh, shit happens.
We got there, and we jumped right into volunteer work. One group went to a food bank, and gave out meals to over 12,000 familys in need. Cool. My group went to a school in a rough neighborhood, where we painted various parts of the school. A few people, however, were requested to go into class and help tutor some elemetary kids. That was the coolest thing in the world. I really can't describe something like that, being able to do that for children. Later, we read them stories, and halfway through that we were all just running and jumping around the room. It was great.
As you might recall, I said that I had bought a shiny new 2gig memory card for my camera, so I'm going to let that talk for a while. By the way, combined time for these two movies is about twenty minutes, so don't watch unless you REALLY WANT to. Don't worry, it's gonna be great.

Part 1

Part 2

There's a lot of stuff I'm probably leaving out...like the performances, competition, and the Preservation Jazz Hall (one of the best parts of the trip) but it was all really really great. If you guys have any questions, please ask! I love talking about New Orleans. It makes me excited to go there again.
Hope you all had a fun time on the O without me >:D

(No picture, videos are enough.)

I am going to Acen.

"It is the purpose of all inanimate objects to resist man and ultimately defeat him."

I am goin to Acen. I finally paid for a weekend badge just moments ago. Victory...is mine. *dramatic fist close*
There's a few good things going on...
I didn't get to go to the race in Wisconsin yesterday. That's fine by me, considering the weather. We got a phone call on the way there, from the friend that I didn't get to meet (another day...) telling us to turn around, because the race was cancelled. We were only about twenty-five minutes out, so it wasn't that big of a deal. However, the snow had completely covered the stop signals, so we almost died a few times. Nothing new about almost dying. I got to go for a paddle today to make up for it, so all's good.
My depression over Furuba is over, which is really good. I immediately started watching another anime, one about twice as long, so it'll all be good. It's one I've never heard of before, I kinda just closed my eyes and waved the mouse around on a list. It's called Kiba (no, not a spinoff of the dude from Yugioh) and it's kinda cool. It has some sweet action scenes in it. Nothing life changing though.
I'm getting back into DotA, for those of you who might know what that is, rock on.
And lastly, NEW ORLEANS IS ALMOST ONE DAY AWAY OMG CAPS FTW!! I have not prepared for it in the least, lol. I should probably get my horn out tomorrow and blow like a hooker, cause I haven't played since Friday. And I tested the video capacity of my new camera memory card, and it rocks. So I might have some fun videos to post, as well as pics. I'm so excited about the bus ride. I've been waiting to do nothing in particular for a while now. Doing nothing ceases when I'm not at school.
And now...a message from Billy Mays.

PS: I first saw this picture on Katana's binder. I was laughing the rest of the day.
