Haha, probably should have gone with a more descriptive title for this world. But I wanted the There Will Be Blood reference, and, damn it, I took it!!
That was a really nice description you typed out there. I didn't know movies was what this world was for. *looks around wide-eyed*
I have to go rent this now or something. I've taken a couple of film classes, and this sounds like something my teacher would have shown had it fit into his semester theme (it's currently sci-fi). Plus I'm a more-than-mild-not-quite-crazed Depp/Burton fan. Heh.
Haha, yeah, it definitely does not present his movies as "good" but it doesn't really judge them either. Tim Burton is a huge Ed Wood fan, so he admits the movie is biased in favor of Wood, which means the question of movie quality is not brought up that often. Ed Wood is not really about whether Wood was a good director or if he made good movies, anyway. :)
Definitely give it a watch. My opinion of it grows every time I see it -- it actually might be my favorite from that year, which is pretty impressive given some of the competition (The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, The Professional, Heavenly Creatures, etc.). I always feel so happy after seeing it lol.

I knew the name "Ed Wood". But I could just not remember why. So I read the piece.
Sounds thoroughly interesting, especially because they took the approach of presenting Wood for what he was - a director - and [it sounds like] leaving opinions of his movies behind. I might just have to nab some friends and get this one.
...Oh, now I remember! "Ed Wood? Noooooooo! ...Wait, the doors have to - there we go!"
