Welcome to my little corner of The Otaku!

Let me introduce myself. I sign my art as "Kasey-chan", so feel free to call me that. My interest in drawing started when my sister and I went down to the book store and we discovered How-To-Draw-Anime books. It took off from there.
When I'm not scribbling away I am pursuing work in theatrical properties, spending way too much time on Netflix, watching too much TV, and wishing radioactive waste really did give people superpowers.

Here's some of my favorite things :).

Anime: Miyazaki's works, Tokyo Godfathers, Astro Boy (2003)
Manga: Rurouni Kenshin and Hana Kimi
American Cartoons: Batman: The Animated Series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Venture Brothers, Gravity Falls, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated
TV Shows: Merlin (BBC), Firefly, Mystery Science Theater 3000

My Easter Break Thus Far

Well, I've been having a really fun Easter break, excluding the three papers I have to write. But I won't jabber on about them. Yesterday we came back form the cabin, but I've been hanging out with firends and doing homework since then so I haven't had the time to Otaku. Hey! Has anyone noticed my intro pics!? I finnally got them on- courtesy of DaFeather who graciouslly told me how to put them up . I also acctually got a fan art up, I posted it like a second ago so please feel free to check it out. I'm really braindead right now due to the homework thing so I can't really think of anything else to say. I hope to go around and visit everyones sites and hopefully I'll come back tommorow with more to say.
have fun otaku-ing!

The Cabin

Well, Easter was so much fun, it's always wonderful to be with the family again ^-^. However, now we are going up to our granparents cabin for a mini-vaction with my aunt and cousin, which promises to be so much fun. I packed a bunch of sappy romantic movies . Believe it or not, I actually gotsome inspiration to work on Moriko No Akakonami again! I was really happy to have that back, I rally do love all the characters and story. Acctually, Yaku, Moriko, and Amaya were three characters I made up before I was even into anime. So thier, like ancient and have gone through a lot of looks and stories over the years ^-^. So I'm happy to revisit tht manga. I also hve a TON of fan art to do and am determined to buy some 8 by 11 watercolor paper so I can post my inked works up in Otaku. So I need to go get ready and packup. My sis is bringing her laptop so maybe I'll have time to post.
have fun otaku-ing! (it feels like I haven't said that in forever!)

Dungens and Dragons

Well I took the geekiest quiz ever:
What dungens and dragond character are you? Here are my results:
Neutral Good Human Ranger (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 13
Dexterity- 13
Constitution- 14
Intelligence- 15
Wisdom- 12
Charisma- 13

Alignment:
Neutral Good- A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rangers- Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

I was sort of hoping I could be an elf or something. But a ranger is pretty cool. Although, being a LOTR geek, I think of Strider/Aragorn every time I hear that word.

The Inkcapades

Okay, as most of you who have been my otkau buddy for a while know, I love love love Hana Kimi! So, like a good little Otaku, I went out and purchased Hisaya Nakajo's Hana Kimi art book. While reading it, I found that she uses colored ink to color her awesome pictures. I didn't even know there was such a thing as coloring ink, let alone a variety of colors! I always just figured that she used watercolors or something. Anyways, I saw this awesome colored ink set at Micheals yesterday, and on an impluse decided to buy it. I already had watercolor paper and was very excited to get started. I had this whole elaborate thing in my head of doing the Three Graces from Greek/Roman mythology. However, my sister wisely suggested something a bit less complex. So I decided to drawthe first idea that popped into my head. Surprisingly, I thought of The Scarlet Letter. If any of you don't know what that is, it's an old classic written by Nathaniel Hawthorne about a Puritan Adultress and her life living witht he consequenses of her sin. I remembered it because it was one of the only books I liked reading in school. So I decided to a sort of manga cover for the scarlet letter.
Working with ink was acctually quite entertaining, although I didn't get very far at all. My fav. color as of now is black. It looks so awesome and for some reason, it's just more fun to paint with. It's a very dominating color. Red's kinda cool too, that is if I had a fire engine red. My red now is a strawberry red, but I guess that could work as far as skin tones and stuuf.
So enough of my ranting for now.

The Freaking Submission Limits

Well, a few moments ago I was merrily submitting my work, when I stumbled across this apparently new otaku rule that you can only submit one pic per day. That is the stupidest thing on the entire planet! Why in the world did they change that?! I mean, I can understand if someone submits like 20 pictures at once, that a littl overbearing. So, just limit the submitting amout to like 5 or 3 pics. Dont take it down to one! I love Otaku, but I really hate this whole submitting limit. The funny thing is, I submitted two pictures and it was fine, but when I went to submit the third one, the malicious little message box popped up and prohibited me from submitting. stupid. Doea anyone else agree?
