Welcome to my little corner of The Otaku!

Let me introduce myself. I sign my art as "Kasey-chan", so feel free to call me that. My interest in drawing started when my sister and I went down to the book store and we discovered How-To-Draw-Anime books. It took off from there.
When I'm not scribbling away I am pursuing work in theatrical properties, spending way too much time on Netflix, watching too much TV, and wishing radioactive waste really did give people superpowers.

Here's some of my favorite things :).

Anime: Miyazaki's works, Tokyo Godfathers, Astro Boy (2003)
Manga: Rurouni Kenshin and Hana Kimi
American Cartoons: Batman: The Animated Series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Venture Brothers, Gravity Falls, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated
TV Shows: Merlin (BBC), Firefly, Mystery Science Theater 3000
Movies: The Secret of Kells, The Adventures of Tintin, X-Men: First Class, The Iron Giant, Muppet Treasure Island, Treasure Planet, RoboGeisha, Sharktopus
Books: Pride and Prejudice, Northanger Abbey,Jane Eyre

Back from Florida

Hello there all you happy people!
I'm back! Man, what a fun trip. I could probably take up 5 posts telling you how awesome it was, but that would take too long. So I'll just quickly highlight my favorite parts. The first one was sharing a room with 3 wonderful friends. We got to be in the room without a teacher so we could stay up as late as we wanted. Needless to say, a lot of interesting and long conversations went on and I became so much closer to those 3. They will be the kind of girls I'll look for when choosing a college dorm mate. Okay, so the next part was all the glorious and amazing beach food ^-^. You cant beat greasy, heavenly beach food! The next thing was parasailing. I thought I would be scared, but it was actually so relaxing and I didn't feel the least bit frightened. It was very peaceful up there; I felt as if I was flying. Okay so the next part was a dinner cruise we took. It was sort of boring until they put on the music. Since we go to a Christian school, we weren't allowed to dance. We (our class) were all a little indignant on that one because we felt that the school didn't trust us. Come on, we may be teenagers, but we are mature enough to have a little self-control! It's not like we're going to be humping each other on the dance floor! Well, it didn't really matter because we had a cool supervisor who understood our sentiments on the subject. She turned her back so she wouldn't see us dance. lol. That was really col of her. The dancing was fun, it wasn't bad dancing, just stuff like the electric slide and the cha cha slide. So we all had a lot of fun ^-^. Well, now I'll go and see what you all were up to while I was away.
Here is a Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei pic in honor of having the 13th episode come out ^-^.

Senior Trip is on Thursday!!!!

Yes, early thursday morning I will be on my way to the train station. I'll will be boarding a train that will take me to the airport where I will be whisked away to Florida! I can't wait! What's more, I, being a part of our schools environmental science class, will be going to an event called Envirothon tomorrow. Envirothon is basically a day of tests that focuses on (duh) the environment of our fine state (not gonna say which state it is though). There are different specialties each student can have and mine is Wildlife. This basically means that I have to know anything and everything about the wildlife in our state. If that wasn't mind boggling enough, I haven't studied much due to reports and the school play. However, I don't really care all that much how I do on the test. What matters most to me is skipping school and having fun with my friends. All the girls in our class are going all "hippie" for the event. We bought hippie outfits and jewelry to wear. So we may bomb every test, but at least we'll look the part. lol.
So anyway I've been thinking more and more of how I need to get more anime on my Mac. All I have to watch is Zetsubou Sensei and I'm watching that WAY too much. It consumes a majority of my thoughts now lol. Speaking of anime, I bought the Hana Kimi art book by Hisya Nakajo. The book came with character stickers 3 of which are now a wonderful embellishment to my Mac. . For those of you who are Hana Kimi fans, the three stickers I have are Himejima, Umeda, and Kayashima. I gave my sister Nakatsu, Nakao, and Kadoma for her Mac. Yay! I'm so happy.
Okay so that's about it. Oh! I accutally have a not Zetsubou Sensei pic this time for you guys. It's an awesome rendition of Nagato from Haruhi Suzumiya. She is my fav character from that anime.

have fun otaku-ing!
