Behold, my second attempt at cooking!
This frittata from an episode of Everyday Italian caught my attention, so I knew I had to try my hand at making it. Six eggs, orzo pasta, ricotta cheese, sour cream (substituted for creme fresh, which we couldn't find), parsley, scallions, roasted red peppers, two chopped up rotisserie chicken breasts, and an extra kick from kielbasa sausage (which we decided to add). And voila!
It's not bad actually. Might tweak it next time I cook it, add in some other veggies, maybe some spices other than just salt and pepper.
Today was my grandma's birthday. She's 93 now. She keeps saying she's ready to go, but we're gonna keep her as long as we can. :P
Today was also the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, one of the most important milestones in human history. Show your support by watching the MythBusters Moon Landing episode and watch them rip the conspiracy theorists apart. :V
Another thing I recently dug up while going through boxes at grandma's house was all my Star Trek: The Next Generation DVD sets. So I've been obsessed with watching them again lately. :V
Started with Season 2. Currently watching the episode "Q-Who?", the one that introduced the Borg.
There was literally a lot of stuff today. I'll innumerate things for you:
- With no Doctor Who currently airing, I've been turning elsewhere for my scifi fix. Thanks to Spike TV's fairly consistent repeats of the Star Wars films, I've been getting back into that, so at grandma's house today I dug back into a bunch of the old boxes holding a lot of my stuff removed for more space. I managed to find nine Star Wars novels, so I'm going to try giving them a read. I also dug out some other books including The Star Trek Reader I & II (short story collections of classic Trek TV episodes), and A Critical History of Doctor Who on Television.
- Got two CD/DVD orders made separately both in the mail today.
- Went to the chiropractor for another nutrition therapy check-up, and got a new supplement (so that's five now). But my mom's taken the same thing and, and my mom has a lot left over, so I didn't have to buy a new bottle.
- Got two new-released classic Doctor Who stories on DVD and mom bought me a Victor Borge DVD collection as a birthday present.
- I've got my Aunt Susie (who's visiting this month) hooked on Castle. We just finished the first season tonight, so we'll start on season two tomorrow.
So yeah, full day. :V And I still need to watch more Honey & Clover this week for next Sunday's Anime Pulse review.
So I finally did some cooking today. Not alone though, mom and my aunt helped, because this mac & cheese required a bunch of ingredients and steps. Its turned out really good though, so I'm happy. :D
Next time though, I'm gonna try something simpler.
And enjoy this bonus picture of a napping Pond.
