I have a new fuzzy friend...
She's 3 months old, was only in the shelter for about a week, a stray someone brought in. She's sweet but also very playful and inquisitive.
Now, I need to give her a name, and I have a few ideas, but if anyone has some good suggestions, I'll consider them. ^^
Names I have in mind so far are Melody (for Melody Pond) and Ace (for the 7th Doctor's companion Ace). Yes, I'm considering Doctor Who names. Is anyone surprised? :P
EDIT: AND THE NAME IS...
Well, because simpler names are probably better, I've decided to go with Pond. That and it can refer to either Amy or Melody. So it satisfies the DW name requirements. :P
I suppose the fact that it was a rainy day also helps.
I have a theory that in any given commercial break, the majority of ads will be about cars, liquor, or insurance. Which is amusing when you think about it, because you'll need insurance if you get liquored up and go out in your car. :V
With new MythBusters in full swing, I haven't been keeping up with Criminal Minds, but after some quick research today I learned that not only is JJ returning (with A. J. Cook being given a new 2-year contract), but Prentiss is also returning next season as a full character, after a lengthy story-arc meant to see her off.
I knew that the show's cast and crew were vocally displeased with the network's cuts, leading to them letting Cook and Paget Brewster go. And I had said all along it didn't make sense to screw up a successful series when they were throwing money into a spin-off (I suppose the success of NCIS: Los Angeles made them think if it worked for one of their top shows, it could work for another).
So now Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior has been canceled, and the original is returning to the way it's meant to be. But I still have to wonder... WTF CBS? Why bother? Was it all worth it, messing with us like that? What was the point? >>;
Looks like Turn Classic Movies has made Thursday nights this month a regular monster movie showcase. On tap tonight are...
Them! (1954), the classic movie about atomically oversized ants.
Cosmic Monsters (1958), about an ozone hole that lets in big insects from Planet X.
Tarantula (1955), about a giant spider loose in the desert.
The Black Scorpion (1957), about (what else) giant scorpions terrorizing a town in Mexico.
The Giant Claw (1957), about a giant bird.
The Wasp Woman (1960), about a cosmetics tycoon who's desire to remain beautiful has unexpected consequences.
A quick check of the TV guide has netted me a pretty spiffy monster movie lineup tonight on TCM (Turner Classic Movies).
On now is the original Godzilla, and following it into the night and early morning is Rodan, Ghidora, the Three-Headed Monster, Godzilla vs. Monster Zero, Dinosaurs!, and The Valley of Gwangi.
