Pond is an adorable name - glad to see you didn't go with Melody. That name instantly reminds me of the old school Nickelodeon show 'Hey Dude,' which makes it seem weird for a kitty.
This makes me miss my cat Izzy. She lives half way across the country with my sister (who is technically her owner though Iz loves me best), and I rarely get to see her.
My only two bits of advice would be to get frontline (or a similar product) even if she doesn't go outside. (After all, I'm sure you still go out side and ticks are mobile little buggers!) Also, if you have any potted plants... um, watch out. If Pond thinks her litter box isn't clean or convenient enough, she'll make use of house plants! If she's your only kitty though, it probably won't be a problem.

XD I changed everything for Luna, like my routine, sleeping habits, even the way I sleep (as in less kicking and moving in general), what I eat, my room, got rid of the fish too and on occasion, what I wear. That's what it means to be a parent. =P

She might know how to use a litter box, but does she know where it is? You still have to teach her that. Same with us humans. When we go somewhere new, we don't know where the bathroom is, but that doesn't mean we don't know how to use it. =P

Hai, I remember you telling me that. But I still think you should get her used to a collar. This is the perfect age to teach her whatever you want/need. I think vets prefer it if they have a collar too. And there's that chance she might escape. She's Luna's baby sister afterall. XPPP

Hopefully she already knows how to use a litter box. There was one in her cage at the vet. :P We don't intend to let her outside, but I'll be sure to get her the right collar if we get one. It's probably smart to do so anyway, although she was chipped before we left the shelter.

I might as well call her Melody with everyone already using the name. XP

AWWW!!! My new daughter is adorable! X333 I thought she'd look like Figaro, but Melody is unique. =83 Just look at her! <3 I love the name Melody Ace too. =3 And Luna said she has an idea for the royal part of her name: Her Royal Luna's Baby Sister... =P

I can't believe you got a tabby. You're in a world of excitement, babe. XP Don't leave anything lying around on the floor, or she'll get to it. Luna chewed through a few books her first year. =P

Make sure you potty train her. Hold (support) her by her tummy and make HER walk all the way to her toilet. Then dig around with her paws, then make her semi-sit as though she's using the toilet. You have to do this every one or two hours. I did this and Luna was potty trained in two days. 8D Although it took her a few more weeks until she could hold it in long enough to run to the bathroom... But Luna was only 2 months old when I got her. Melody's 3 months so she should be fine. =3

What else... You have to start ending any "bad" behaviour from now too. If you leave it till later, she'll get mixed messages. For example, don't let her play with your hands. I know Melody's too tiny to do any harm, but she'll tear your arm apart when she's Luna's size. I let Luna play with my hands when she was a kitten, and now I can't train her out of it. =/ So yeah, make all the rules clear from now to avoid confusion later. =3

Kittens wake up really early, (Luna woke up at 6am on the dot every morning until she was about 5) so you have to sleep early too.

You have to get her used to being touched on her paws and ears. This will be useful for vet visits. Take her around in the car sometimes so she gets used to that too. And so that car does not always equal vet visits.

You'll want a very light and thin collar for her. Like those thin bracelets you had to make at camp. She'll get used to having a collar without it being too heavy and bulky to irritate her. But you have to watch her closely the first few weeks of collar training. Luna used to get her paw stuck in hers a lot. XD And kittens grow quickly, so you don't want it to choke her... And thread ages quickly and breaks quickly too.

She might try to climb up your leg when you're getting her food ready, so wear jeans. (mum and I couldn't wear a skirt for 6 months)

That's all I can think of at the moment. XD I'll let you know if there's anything else.
