That's odd. I have to renew it every few months (forgot exactly how long it lasts). It is a bit of a pain to renew though, having to shell out $20 each time.
o_O They make you pay? Weird. If you have a Borders store, you should get one of their cards. They're free and they send you e-mail updates all the time, which includes great coupons! ^_^
Aww... silly science nerd. *pet* Those are the books I don't touch, simply because I believe when science gets to the speculation-charged-by-philosophy level, it can get too out of control. Everyone can be right, but completely wrong at the same time (it frustrates me to no end, but I applaud you for keeping up with it all). Now I use my Borders card on gory/action-packed manga and books to feed my fantasy kicks. Why? Because the Kimmeh and I agree on the 6 for 5 deal. ^_^ *nodnod*
I'm not a card member because they charge per month at Barnes and Noble.. Which I think is weird. o.0

I'm not a card member because they charge per month at Barnes and Noble.. Which I think is weird. o.0 So I'm a member with Borders/Waldenbooks. I get coupons all the time; my favorite sale though is the buy 5, get the 6th free. :3 If I go to Borders during that sale, you can guarantee I'm spending 50+ bucks on manga. XP
But yeah. Scientific geeks are my second favorite kind of geeks out there. They come in a close second to Shakespeare geeks. ;P
Since you like all this science stuff, do you intend to see Ben Stein's documentary "Expelled"? I really want to see it.
I might see it later, try to find it online or something. I'm not really into going to the theater anymore.
Heh, I'd probably just see it to stay informed. I was curious to know exactly what it was about, so I looked it up and found it it's actually a documentary on how "big science" is supposedly bullying intelligent design proponents.

Hmmm... the second one sure does sound interesting.
Being Christian, of course I'm gonna take the route of Intelligent Design. But, I'm not stupid enough to excuse Darwin's evolutionary theory altogether. There's obviously evolution in nature, it's just a matter of opinion and belief whether it's a widescale evolution or not.

I think both of those books sound marvelous! There just simply aren't enough science geeks around here, I say.
We watached the most fascinating NOVA video in physics one time on well, heh time. It talked about a lot of those, it was really neat. There is also a great vid, I can't remember if it's on youtube I saw it or not explaining the differences in the dimensions and talking about string theory, I do believe. You'd probably like it.
As for the other book, oh le sigh, as someone with a Bio degree and having to take science theory... and being an anthropology minor, I took a whole course on physical anth dealing mainly with evolution... Intelligent design, just... heh, I won't even get into it on here. I'll just say I'm not a fan of the Intelligent design idea.
