Quite old. ^^ The Night Land was published in 1912 and was his last major novel before his death in World War I. His other most famous work, The House on the Borderland, was published in 1908.
One things to note is the style of the language is meant to resemble the 17th Century since the story actually starts there, so it's not like the regular prose we're used to in fiction today.
