Have you read any of Ursala LeGuin's sci-fi books? They are quick fun reads - well-written and very enjoyable. Ghibli Jr. even made an (awful, from what I've heard) adaptation of one of her series.
That's quite a challenge :P What kind of books do you like to read? I don't recognize any of the books in the list yet so that's why i'm asking. If you're interested in fantasy/sci-fi then I can recommend some :P

I want to read this series now too. X3 But I think I'll read some of the original Holmes first. =3 I still have that big book Luna gave me for Mother's Day two years ago. XP
I started sometime at the beginning of August. Feels like it should have been longer, but as long as I read each day, I can get quite far in a book on the Kindle.
