I'm not sure where we're separating here but I didn't get any of that wonderful character accuracy you say you saw. :P
lol I wouldn't worry about it. I was mainly saying I could see why fans liked it. Obviously that's going to differ depending on the person.
Forgetting that, I'm glad you had a good birthday. :) Seems like I don't see many posts from you. Though I'm one to talk since I rarely post these days either. ^^
I didn't feel that at all really. The characters felt very bland to me. They didn't have the life, the spirit that I get from watching the movies. *shrugs*
Happy Birthday old man! ;p Hope you continue to have a great day.
Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. Unfortunately I thought it was quite poorly written. I'm not sure how it tends to get positive reviews from readers.
It's simple, looking past the style of writing, or lack of, Zahn does a much better job than other writers at actually portraying what characters are like.
To many others get off on tangents that are clearly what they thought it should have been instead of staying in character with how the series was written. So you feel like you're reading glorified fan fiction instead of the star wars universe. Where with Zahn, it feels like it fits.
Out of the ones I've read, he's one of my favorites for that reason. Though maybe you need to read some of the really horrible ones so you can see what I'm talking about. :p
I got a slice of cheesecake from the place we picked up lunch from. We're going to wait a couple of weeks to do proper cake to involve a family friend who had her birthday on the 24th, and in memory of my grandma who would have been 94 on the 20th.

But it doesn't matter anyway. In terms of fantasy and scifi I already want to read, I will be busy for years even without Star Wars. ^^

Happy Birthday, Mr. T! Please tell me you had cake. (That might be the only reason I look forward to my birthdays: delicious cake.)
I tend to think it's a good day when you've spend a portion of it reading some books.
