Dear me...I am so sorry about your cat. I know how you feel. Recently our kitten died...He went missing for a few days and found him under the porch. That was a bad bad day.
Best wishes.
"Have you fallen in love?" "No, but I've stepped on it."
As much as I hate to admit it... >_> We've accidentally run over cats before. If your dad had... he'd know. There's no mistaking it. So considering how sick he was... it sounds like it just caught up with him again. Poor thing. Anyway, you take care okay?
Mom came in this morning and told me she's confident that the cat's lungs must have hemorhaged. She said he wasn't in a position that indicated he'd been run over, and it would explain why he never got out from under the van, because he would always wake up and realize people were getting into it and move. Since he was sick for months and he was always hacking and wheezing, I can believe that his lungs just finally gave up on him.
Dad still feel's he's to blame though, and I don't think anyone will be able to convince him otherwise.
If your dad only thinks he ran over your cat, then he didn't actually run over him. He would be certain, and he would have been from the moment it happened. You can't pass over an object that size without the car letting you know. He should rest assured. This wasn't his doing.
Also, we've had a pet that started bleeding from his nose and went limp and flat. He hadn't been crushed or stepped on, but had suffered a seizure. He died a few minutes later. That sounds very similar to your cat's final moments. Things like that can't be prevented and are no one's fault. I agree that you should be very happy that he lived as long as he did, and this way, his final experience wasn't in a gloved technicians hands at a cold, loud vet's office, but with your family, people that loved him.
I hope next week treats you better.

...but seriously, take care man. With all the bad stuff going on, I'm sure the little ray of sunshine's out there and waitin' to peek through the clouds.
Oh I didnt know what to say, all I could think about is my dog how she is old and isnt doing too good. When you have a pet for so long, they become family.
I hope everything gets better.
You know that someone truly cares when they brick you like that. -AZ
We all know how horrid it is to loss an import little fuzzy (scaley, slimy, furry) creature (relative) that has been in our lives for a long time. So, we know how distractions can help a lot. And reading is a fantastic distraction. You'll be much better soon enough.
Don't worry about posting happy things if all that is in your mind is sad ones. We can handle it^^
no problem, timechaser. Hope you feel better soon. I bet your Dad is feeling bad as well, if not worse than you, being he is sort of blaming himself with the unfortunate accident.

OMG! Was this the cat that had been so sick? I missed the previous post, so I didn't get all the details.
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I know that it's hard to lose a family member like that. {{{HUGS}}}
Beans are evil. Bad, bad beans.
