I do need to bring the bill down a bit. I'm working on it, my Jeckyl of saving is fighting my Hyde of spending. XP
Well, yes, keeping bugs out is one purpose of the screen, also any other windbourne debris that might otherwise get blown into the pool. Keeps the area cooler, a bit shaded, and also means we don't have to scoop out junk every time we want to go swimming. ^^

I hope you have lots of fun with the new books, CDs and DVD. ^^ We'll talk about the books and the new book I bought, right? X3
I want to vote but I can't. ;_;
When you said "screen" for the pool, I had something completely different in mind. @_@ I thought it was more like a... um... blanket-type-thingy. ^^' The roof looks really cool. X3 I think my aunt should make something like that for her spa. But I won't tell her that coz I'm mean. XD
Well, true. ^^ Politics gives me a headache too, but it's also good to stay informed, because it shows you care about what happens in our government and how well (or poorly) it's run by those we elect.
Hmmm, sounds like you're in for some interesting times with those books! The only non-fiction books I generally read are on Physics, Math, or Philosophy, and almost never anything to do with the REAL WORLD OUT THERE. lol.

I hope one of these days you'll also pick up a book from a well-educated, well-informed conservative/Christian author. Or maybe even the Bible. :P
Do you like poking fun at our past debates? Cause I sure do!
I used to think like that too, but I've really gotten in books like this lately. I've read enough fiction for awhile, I want to be better-informed about the world around me. ^^
Yeah... it is hard to write about stuff when nothing in particular's going on.
I can't wait until the day when not only do I have a driver's license, but the moped in the garage is in working order. The fact I need to pass riding in a huge car to drive a little moped is severely hampering. Meh... >_<
Mm. I'm not big into read into reading about politics, but yeah, I'd definitely compare our current administration to an imperialist one. The seconds book sounds like an interesting concept, but I don't think I could sit through a whole book on the subject.
Bacevich's book is about the three main problems afflicting the US: our infatuation with military power as a means to solve conflict, the imperialist nature of the current administration, and the financial situation we find ourselves in (assuming an endless line of credit, just hoping the books will balance at the end of the day without actually doing anything about it).
I plan to do an entire post about this book, and include a clip from the interview and a link to the entire thing on the Bill Moyers Journal page, because I think everyone should at least hear the guy, if not read the book. He is a conservative but non-partisan and respected on both sides and served in the military in Vietnam.
Sam Harris' "The End of Faith" about the clash between religion and reason, and "Letter to a Christian Nation" is the short rebuttal he wrote to the critics of the first book.
Victor Stenger is a professor of physics and philosophy and in his book he says that with reasonable certainty we can rule out the existence of any form of God, from a deist one that just got things started to an intervening one.

Physics has a lot to do with the real world. ^^ It studies the forces and laws that hold the universe together and keep it going.

What are the books actually about?
And I voted on Sunday. After I voted, Obama campaigners came around to my house, to make sure I voted. o.O Scary.
