I'm not saying its outside the realm, I'm just saying he's a fresh face in the entertainment industry. His career is just starting, it was only a year ago that he was introduced to Americans. Hence why I think its a bit unlikely. But hey, its show biz, so anythings possible.

I just checked out the contenders. I'm sorry... but I don't know about some of them. However, I must admit that I did have a bit of a problem when I heard David Tennant was going to be the Doctor after having seen him as the bad guy in the 4th Harry Potter movie.
Well... I'll still be watching no matter who they get. It's just going to take some time to get used to someone else again. *sigh*
Well, Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant had both done films before playing the Doctor. ^^ And you've got film actors like Charlie Sheen and Alec Baldwin in TV shows these days, so I wouldn't say it would be outside the realm of a screen actor to jump to a TV role.

Yes, alright, sometimes it's a good thing. ^^ I do love Lalla Ward more than Mary Tamm.
Plus the fact that Colin Baker played the rather nasty Chacellory Guard captain Maxil in the Peter Davison story Arc of Infinity before going on to be the 6th Doctor.
Still though, I'd rather have someone who hasn't previously guest starred in the series. ^^

I meant just guest-starred at all. ^^; It would be a bit weird, to see someone who played another character in a previous episode as the new Doctor.
Oh really? What about Romana eh? She was a previous character in the show before she became Romana's next generation after all. She may not have been the doctor, but she was still a time lord.
Though that was after her guest appearance as Princess Astra in the Doctor Who story The Armageddon Factor. =P
*pokes you*
Still, it's never fun when an actor your really like moves on. XP
I dunno about James MacAvoy taking over as the Doctor. I mean, he's been in some pretty 'big' movies, so a move to the little screen seems like a bit of a jump. I'm a bit sad though David Tennant is leaving though. I'll barely get to know him after my 'education' on Doctor Who is done!

I take it you quite liked David Tennant as Doctor Who, then.
Tis too bad when a favorite actor leaves a show you love. ._.
And yes, I'd have to agree that having any previous guest stars on would be odd. I know in Law & Order: SVU it was strange when the new prosecuting attorney was previously on the show as an accomplice to a male rape case.
Glad you got your appointment today, even through all the confusion. :]
Awww, he's leaving? That's sad. I've never really seen much of the show, but he's my favorite Doctor. I hope the next choice will be a good one! (And you're right, having someone who's guest-starred before as the Doctor would be kind of... dumb.)

No more Tennant? Wow, that is a surprise. I'm curious as to who your new face is going to be. ^_~v
Much, much dental confusion... *psyduck*

I had no idea, I hadn't checked the latest DW news in a few days. You knew and you kept it from me? ._.
I wouldn't have known when I did if my sister hadn't told me over the phone. ^^;

I found out last night and prayed you wouldn't bring it up while we chatted. It would've really bummed me out.
...
This means we'll have to see David Tennant die. Oh maaaaan my fangirl heart wallows.

Except today, my speech (and obviously my typing) makes no sense. I tried to say "Spraying bleach" before but I said "splaying breach" instead. >>
