I grew up on the Beatles as well. I started listening to them as far back as I can remember, about 22 years I'd say (the same time I started watching Dr Who).

It was a family thing, really. We had old cassette tapes of those two CDs you mentioned, the '62-'66 and '67-'70. I preferred the earlier songs at the time, so I took the "red" tape, and my sister took the "blue" tape of their later stuff. I would play that tape over and over on our 12 hour car trips to North Carolina.

I also loved their films, and would watch them over and over. I have the special edition of A Hard Day's Night, but I still need to get Help! and Yellow Submarine on DVD ^^

I don't really listen to the Beatles anymore, I'm more of a Rush fan now, but I still think of them fondly, and the majority of Progressive music fans acknowledges Sgt. Pepper as the genesis of that music genre.
