i know what you mean, i was thinking about the exact problems, it's inconvenient to go to myotaku, and finding art is difficult, but i like the comments update feature, i wonder why they diddnt have that at first.
Most of the new version is'nt good at all excample you can only sent one art per 24 hours that stinks I like the older version their I could have sent as many as I wanted to, the background of the new version for your own world is'nt as fun as the old version were you could put a wallpaper in the back of your site now it just to hard to get it right. Not everything is so bad now we can see every messasge we get easily because the inbox is on the main screen so the new version is'nt so bad but I still like the older version much more. KUYZO
Well, there are some cool stuff on VV,but I just miss the stuff you really need for communication. (like guestbooks etc) and indeed,MyOtaku and TheOtaku are like two different sites now...It's cool and all how you can design your 'world' here, but I just miss things. It's not the same,I feel isolated from the other members.Yeah,it looks all great and all,but you can't judge books on the cover...The more I come here, the more disapointed I feel. And the comment count thing was so fun!You can see in a instant who's a real member and who isn't!I also get lost occasionally on this site...Meh...I like DeviantArt better, because it's better organised, een when they gave the site a huge make-over.(and it was just a different design but the stuff you just need just stayed) I just...Don't like this new feeling...Well,I guess I'll return to MyOtaku, instead of keeping up the 'worlds' here, because I just don't have the same nice feeling I used to have.(of course,my stories will be put here on VV) oh,and how the heck can I delete a world?I can't find a button that says 'delete world' anywhere,or I'm just blind...Sigh...
i agree completely. there isn't even a link in MyOtaku anymore for theO. i mean its like theO and myO got into a big arguement and arn't speaking to one another at all, period.
everything you've said here, pretty much suns up how i feel about VV and myO.
I totally agree with you Angel, this version is very different but that points you mentioned are the ones that make it mm strange and difficult to use, i dont find my friends, they are somewhere and well they are very difficult to search... i think i just miss the old version and myotaku -____-
i think thats all ...
The new commenting system annoys me: I can't look at the original post because of the pop-up style comment system blocks the entire post. My memory isn't that good to remember every word in the post!
I don't understand that extra word-advertisement on the side of the visual-advertisement at the top of the main pages. Why have word-ad beside another ad? It just pushes the entire screen to the side when using a smaller screen setting.
As for myOtaku, I think I'm ready to leave it behind. Remember that I have been here since 2003, and I have already deleted one site (HSS). Deleting another site will not bother me, because I like to have one site to take care of. However, I don't think I will delete my myOtaku site; I want to keep it as a type of backup site in case this site needs repair. I can then go back to my old site while this site goes under maintenance.
I'm starting to like my new World. I was not sure how I would feel about leaving my old site, but I do like the Worlds system. It doesn't bother me that I can't see who subscribed to me because I kind of like the mystery! It's kind of like having a secret admirer. I just need more time to have a firm opinion on this site.

I think that Adam had originally 'dispatched' myO from theO, because the design/layout was totally different from the VV, and/or because he wanted to put his Worlds into action, which I do like - it's fast and easy. I also like that you get the list of newly updated fanart/worlds/etc in the backroom ^^ Plus the comments list is longer :P myO was easy with seeing someone's favorite stuff/hobbies/anime/general information.
I can really understand why old users love myO and hate that it's dispatched (I too miss it), but I also understand and see why Adam has used Worlds ^__^
But on the other hand, some things that really felt like theO is gone.. The feeling is a bit gone.. That's what I really miss. It's a lot quiet here these days.. but I guess time will help ^^
Good article! ^__^ It's good to what someone's opinion is :3
There's a lot I could say here in comments, but I'm already drafting up my MyOtaku blog entry that'll pretty much cover everything. I think I'll post in Worlds the exact same thing, just to get wider coverage in this new "two site" system.
It's painful for someone like me who has been on MyOtaku since 2003 to see what's happening to members and sites over there.
