That does make me feel a little better about it, but I suppose this is how it's supposed to feel. You can't know everything about something you've never done before, right?
It doesn't sound pathetic at all. There are a lot of people that are scared to talk to people and do all of that. Sometimes, once people throw themselves in the mix, they learn it's easier than they thought it would be. Not gonna say it isn't scary or hard, but you'll make friends at your job, so it won't be so scary anymore. You'll get there. You aren't doomed to fail.
