I mentioned it to my mom, and she said it wasn't a bad idea. I dunno if she'll actually do it though. I'd do it myself, but I'm not really the good at handling money.
It doesn't cost to start a gofundme donation. There really isn't a downside to it. I don't know how many people would donate, but you'll never know if you don't try. You literally don't have anything to lose.
I'm only seeking a second opinion on this, because making big decisions make me nervous. I know we need the money, so of course it wouldn't be a bad thing... but, I still have that feeling of unease ^^;
It wouldn't really be a dumb thing to do, just kinda hard to achieve.
It could take a very long time to get $80k, and seeing as how impatient your grandfather is, you'd need a ton of people to help support this before he totally gets angry already.
Not saying that you shouldn't though <:O it sounds like a very tough situation and you'd need all the help you can get :C

I'm not sure why you think it would be a bad thing if you need the money. Hell yes I would set it up if I were in your shoes.
