How about to have a page on theOtaku where we can ask/post/promote
- open to requests (and name how many slots)
- open to art trades
- open to collabs
If you have artists posting on one page than it's easier for people to interact who don't know each other yet. And it will promote people creating submissions.. and perhaps making people give more things to friends/ making more for each other.
I think another contest held by Adam would be cool. I think a lot of people would be drawn to that, simply because he's the bossman. Plus if he could offer premium status as a prize - not those contests that you can win a dvd just for US residents won't work.
Or something like design a new mascot for the site.
I would love it that there would be an option in the challenges that:
1. more than one host for a challenge (co-hosting & both names appear)
2. prizes for challenges can be donated. for example if a friend of mine is hosting a contest I can offer a prize. (how to promote this?)
I'm wondering about adding a cosplay section --> it would be a huge lure for people who cosplay and give a great community boost I think. It might have a bigger attraction that DA and such because this site is very anime/manga orientated and thus have a better audience.
I'd also love some new color options for the worlds.
I'd love to be able to make polls in my post.
The hall of fame with artists only goes from 2004 to 2010 -- update it.
And of course a tutorial section would be amazing...
Thinking about it, the biggest lure of people on this site is usually making things 'official' and promoting it through bossman or getting a special rank or whatever.
I really think your posts 'what's happening on theO' makes everything a bit more connected and more information is shared.
oh and it would be amazing to be able to be active in the chat on ANY page of theO. NOt that you necessarily have to stay on the chat page. That's a big thing that I would totally love! <3
Ps if you want to do a banner thing with OCs or other drawings, I wouldn't mind helping lapping the all up together into something that fits together.

Hehe thanks! I suppose it would work in a similar way to the templates we have for the iPhone wallpapers. But perhaps if the aim was for people to buy them we'd have to only display a thumbnail sized pic... Aaah I'm curious what things will be planned!
First, I love your idea of creating TheO bookmarks, and second, I've seen on Etsy before where you can purchase a .PDF pattern file for bookmarks. So the person would be able to print them out in the convenience of their own home and make as many as they'd like, just as long as they made the initial donation. No messy postage involved.
Mini pocket/desk calenders featuring various styles of original characters from the artists of TheO would be interesting. Of course there are so many talented artists here that you would need to hold a random draw of names to represent each month of the year. It could be a digital version or traditional print. But I'm guessing digital would probably be cheaper and can be easily shared with everybody.
Hey Aryia,
That’s a good point too. Sort of like a character guide? That would be kind of fun!
I think it would be amazing if theO could use OC characters and make a online/phone game too, though I know that would take waaay longer and such.
Thanks!
Thank you entropy!
You have some great ideas that would be awesome for theO to try out, I’ll be sure to pass them on to Adam
Ah, I didn’t know that about publishing companies! Good to know for future use for sure.
Hey Anna!
Thanks for your comment, you had some great ideas in there that I hadn’t thought of at all! I really like the idea of bookmarks and making a challenge and create a few designs (if it benefits theO’s logo, I think that would be a double win).
Hmmm, that’s true about postage…or maybe if one buys more they’d save more? I guess those are details that don’t need to be thought out as of yet, but good to keep in the back of our minds.
Yeah, I’m looking into that with Adam as well.
Oooh, I like the idea about getting doing a collab comic by theO collectively. You have some really awesome ideas Keba, I enjoy reading your comments
Sure thing! I’m curious to see what you have planned – shoot me a PM! ^^
OMGEE, your icon. Pffft! xD
Hmm, that would be really great if you could Kairi! I know…quite a few digital artists have up and fled, or come in from time to time ;A;
Yeah, I thought of that too, unless you’d get permission from the original artist.
Thanks! I look forward to hearing any other ideas you may have~
I'd love to make a huge artwork all together. For example - every person draws one character (and the main design layout is already decided so it doesn't become to chaotic). The participants are shuffled and than a list formed and in that order we can let people add their character. If they take too long to draw --> it will go to the next person.
Perhaps we could limit the 'draw one character' to draw your own OC.
Or it would be soooo cool to have a place in theO where we can draw together, and be able to post that artwork.
For your art book or tutorial book there are some print on demand printers that will create hardcopies for the fans needing an actual book as well doing the pdf sales. Some of the smaller game publishers do that sales model.
I would like to see the community do something similar on other sites. I liked some of the OC crossover comics done by artists that have their own comics and doing a collaborative story and dividing the pages out for the various participants. I also liked illustrators playing character tag - draw a pic with their OC and the person they are tagging OC. Then the tagged artist draws a picture with the tagged OC and the OC of the person they want to go next. It's nice when the chain of linked drawings go on for while.
Ask Adam if he'll reduce the promote art for day price to get more people willing to do the promoting of exceptional pieces of work. I have promoted the winners of my challenges and have promoted a couple of pieces out of the gallery cause I thought they were that good.
I do still like the idea of an artbook, but I agree that perhaps it would have to be OC based. Orrr scenic art, like backgrounds. I really like the tutorial idea too, I haven't looked through all of these, but for starters perhaps we could have some of the best of these featured, seeing as these are already here.
Oh, how about designing bookmarks? Handy for not losing your place in whatever book/manga you are reading ^^
I really enjoyed looking through all the entries back when theO banner logo was re-designed. Perhaps we could do another similar feature like that, but for bookmarks/pin badges/stickers/notebooks/postcards/deck of cards or something? I don't know if the aim of this is to make theO memorabilia XD but it could be a fun little thing to do. Postage costs could be tricky though.
I LOVE the art books idea! It could be a bunch of OC illustrations.
Or we could have theO's own original manga with multiple people involved. One person scripts, one person does character designs, one person roughs it... or everyone could be in on everything. I'm guessing we'd be having a lot of Chat meets for that.
Judai's idea for tutorials in how to use theO is great. I'd totally like to do one about tagging, since most people don't know how to do it properly. (#JustBecauseDeviantArtDoesThisStupidThingDoesntMeanWeDo)
Here are a few more things copied and pasted from my World:
1. OC Popularity Polls. We'd vote for each others' characters and the 10 that receive the most votes get a countdown comic.
2. Otaku Manga/Anime Fan Guides. Basically it'll be a ring of fan sites using Worlds. Each person would have a fan World collecting data about their chosen series (character bios, world guide, et cetera). If we don't know everything about a certain series, we can have guest posters and commenters fill in the gaps. Also, instead of using official artwork, we'd make our own (or post artwork from other users).
There is a third thing that'll be revealed soon that I want to host. No art skills are required for this one. You just have to know how to link YouTube videos... and you have to have watched a lot of anime. If you want to co-host, Ita-san, I can PM you the details.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
I could do the tutorials Judai suggest :3. And, I've always wanted to do that huge worm banner thing X3 But most of the digital artists members are inactive :/.
Anyway, I don't think we can sell anything made be digital artists, as we use others' art...
I'll try to think of some ideas :3. Thanks for the hard work and best of luck ^^.

I've been alright, just coming out of a depression spell, trying to find work, trying to stay sane while dealing with life issues like my computer breaking down and not being able to make graphics for awhile, finding an older computer that still worked (laptop) and able to make graphics, almost attaining a job recently then dumb temp agency "pulls" the position due to their screw up, its been a whole thing. But I'm alright otherwise. Just trying to hang in there. That about sums everything up on how I've been doing/going thru.
I've been good, quite busy if anything! I don't have any school exams, but I have my final nursing exam that's quite extensive. ;A; It's hard trying to memorize everything! How about you? Istalkyouinyourworlds >O<
Yes tutorials are a GREAT idea! I've always wanted to see something like that here. I mean fellow Otakus have been making fan tutorials but they've never gotten much attention. I'm all for it. I'd also love to see maybe a mini tutorial on setting up a world blog, because many new members aren't familar with the creation of "Worlds" and a mini tutorial in that area would help a lot. And something with recommened image sizes and themes too. I'd also love to see more color combonation themes added as well as special themes. Just a thought. It would be cool.
I know they used to do theOtaku Graphic "worm" which was a LONG image of many member's graphic edits all combined together. Something like that would be great as a group project, then send a PDF or printable format to everyone who participated so we could print them out either big or medium and hang them up. Again just another thought.

I suggest a daily calender with a theme for each month to get more OC works exposed.
Can you also suggest to Adam can we have another way to track stats on pics without giving false hits on the view counters?
