And I've never even been to Borders...;A; It's so sad that all these book stores are closing down. What am I going to buy now?!
Ah, not it's okay. And it may seem that way with some arguments, but I guess it depends on who's arguing. Liike, in debates you HAVE to listen to the other side. Some people can be so hot-headed that they end up saying stuff like 'well, you're stupid' or something to win the argument...O.o; Wait, and what I wasn't saying wasn't really politics. It had to do with cultural differences...and just for a small explanation, Takeshi Kaneshiro is a famous actor! XD
Ah, that makes sense. I have to brace myself for that kind of stuff, then...;m;
Comedies that are too realistic don't really work because life isn't all that funny sometimes. xD; I don't know what that is, though. *looks it up* Oh, it's a manga. I don't actually read many mangas, except for what they sell in Borders. (WHICH IS CLOSING DOWN. ;A;)
How fun. xD Ah, politics... I perfer not to get involved in those kind of discussions because it often results in arguing. The problem with arguments is that both sides are so stuck on their own opinion that neither side listens to the other; so it's kind of for naught. I actually do have opinions on some topics, though. I just don't like to share them.
...I feel like I totally changed the topic, sorry. xD
Haha, no problem. :P
I feel like it's just a combination of a bunch of other hairstyles I've drawn. xD
It's so hard to use the pen pressure properly (?) for line art. The lines all end up being different thicknesses and... ugh. Dx But I'm trying to practice, secretly. o3o
Pfft, you can learn a TON of stuff from wiki. There's this one 22-year-old engineer who invented some way to charge electronics through waves instead of using chargers all because she read a ton on wiki.
There are some real people in life who have such flat thinking. It's what I call immature people...
Ah, it's a good thing you think of comedies that way. I think the more realistic a comedy is the more it fails...unless...it's realistic comedy? I guess...XD If that makes any sense. Like Beshari Gurashi (sp?) that was so realistic and had things that I would laugh at in real life, and I didn't know I'd actually laugh at in a media...O.O
Ahaha...XD All I do every day is compare, contrast, and complain...XD So I like to see what other people think about the topics so I can have a more well-rounded opinion. But I never realized this until I saw an interview of Takeshi Kaneshiro where he pointed out this fact...and then I later realize how much America (as a country) dislikes Asia (as a country)...there are many people in America who love Asia, but the majority (mostly the older generations) have prejudice which is why right now we seem to be freaking out so much by China getting better than America...I think China should be the most prosperous country because of it's amazing history, but it didn't end up that way, which is shame...>3>
Yes, thank you, philosophy. I knew theocracy was wrong when I wrote it, but it had something ending in a 'y' that I was looking for, so I used it...XD That had been bothering me for a while. Thank you very much!
I love Tomato's hair~! It's so lovable and catchy! You are a genius for coming up with it! O.O
Haha! XD Then you must've done what I usually did on my pictures! XD I don't think I've ever used lineart seriously with pen pressure so I dunno what that'd be like...O.o;
Nah, I just read the wikipedia pages on models and modeling agencies. xD
I didn't do one in this world, but I had a profile of him posted in my portfolio. :d But yeah, this one's updated.
I'm suprised you think he's realistic. xD I find him to be a very flat character... mostly because his thought process is very straightforward. Although, I guess the realism of a character isn't necessarily determined by their thought process. I actually wanted the characters in OFAV to be less realistic than my other characters, as their personalities are kind of... I don't know... one-sided? I think Stefan is the most realistic in personality in my opinion.
I've never seen any Japanese movies except some Miyazaki films. I think flatter characters are good for comedies and realistic characters are good for dramas/slice of life (obviously) movies and the like. But a mix of flat and realistic characters is good, too, I think... I also don't really notice what you notice about America vs Japan. xD I just read and watch what's there... I pretty much don't pay attention to what critics say about movies and books.
A theocracy is a government ruled by a divine leader, or something. |D Maybe you're thinking philosophy?
I never even thought of that. xDD I can't even imagine Tomato as a darker character...
Kiyoshi would look hilarious with Tomato's hair. xD (Actually, it's just a weird hairstyle in general.)
Thanks! :) And nah, it doesn't. I have to do the pointed edges and stuff manually (?). Actually, I think it's easier to do it on my own instead of using the pressure sensitivity feature on SAI because it doesn't always look how I want it to on SAI.
I had a feeling that you had already done one of these for Tomato, but it's always good to update a character! You fix their old problems and make them even more interesting.
I think Tomato is a VERY interesting character and rather realistic...though I hate to say, but more 4-koma or comedy manga have not so realistic characters, but we all just want to go the extra mile to make them more realistic and more relatable. I think this is because of our culture, that we fear showing it to other people or thinking it's a good character because all these other writers in our country go so deep into their characters. Sometimes I feel it takes the fun out of some things...and Japanese movies are often criticized and not taken seriously because their characters aren't as deep as American ones...when people of our culture don't realize that writing is art and how deep it is depends on our style. We're like the super realism artists of the renaissance scorning the vibrant abstract or not so realistic art that is also very beautiful, just in a different look...
Woah...sorry going too much into...umm...what's the word? Theocracy? Nah, I don't know...XD Just something I realized when I thought about Tomato more as a character...
Also, this is quite random, but I really wonder what Tomato would look like with a darker image and his hair down...XD I like imagining what a character would look like if they looked near the opposite...XD Like if Kiyoshi had Tomato's hairdo....I think that'd look VERY weird! XD
I also really love the clean colouring on that MS paint pic! The hair looks fantastic, so does the lineart! Does MS pain have pressure sensitivity?
