It really is sad. But even if you tell people that, they won't believe you until they figure it out themselves. People work like that for some reason...
Yup, I live in the suburbs of a big city. :d I had a feeling you went to a smaller school. I kind of would like to go to a small school. Do you have good school lunches? :9 (Random question, sorry. xD)
Yeah, well... that's the difference between real life and the internet. xD; In school, I don't really have the opportunity to even talk because my main focus is learning. And even then I don't have much to talk about because I don't listen to the same music as many people, I don't know many actors/celebrities, I don't like talking about people in my class... yeahhh.... ._.
Ah, yeah, Stand By Me usually comes on on Thanksgiving (but apparently not this year...O.o; ). That makes sense, that makes sense.
Ah, it's kinda sad...people trying to fit in. I don't think they realize that there are plenty of other people to make friends with than the people you're picking and people you may have not liked at first can become some of your best friends (happens to me all the time).
WAH! I only have 500 in my whole school! Actually...before I only had 45 in my whole school...and I thought 500 was big...O.O I can see how you miss people! XD And I'm sure you're not as anti-social as you think! You seem to have a fairly happy, nice, outgoing personality on here!
Well, it's not like we moved to a different country. xD;
My parents were in the middle of a divorce at the time. My dad, my sisters, and I moved up to live with my mom's parents. I think the plan was for all of us (my mom included) to live near my grandparents, not actually with them, as some sort of compromise between my parents to salvage their marriage. (Honestly, I'm not really sure; I never bothered to ask my parents and I was too young at the time to understand what was going on.) When things didn't work out, we moved back to where we lived before.
Yeah, basically. It's not always that you realize you're not good friends with someone (though that has happened to me), it's that as you get older your world gets bigger. Then you have to decide what you like and dislike, what you think is right and wrong. Often times what you choose to like is different from what your old friend chooses to like; and sometimes what they choose to like is what you choose to dislike. Although, "choose" and "decide" are kind of the wrong words, since it's really all developmental over time.
There's a movie that has this sort of theme in it called Stand By Me. Have you seen it?
And yeah, that's exactly how it is for some people. Actually, I refer to that "fitting in" kind of idea a lot in Tim's story.
I think you're a mixture of both. xD You've got to be stubborn to be individualistic! I don't really try to fit in anymore. I (half-heartedly) attempted to once, but decided I didn't really care. >3>; Fitting in is important to a lot of people because they don't want to risk losing friends.
I'm not the best example in this case either because I'm so extremely antisocial that I sometimes can't tell new students from old students. "orz There are a lot of people in my school, though. I think there's 500 kids in my graduation class? Something like that.
Generally, the new kids in the school are pretty well accepted. Although, it mostly depends on how much of a desire a new student has to make friends, not really how accepting the current students are of new students. In my opinion, at least.
REALLY LONG COMMENT, AGLAKSDJFL. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. """orz

Wha!? How does that work!? Leaving a coming back? If only we did that....of course, we can't do that now because of the drug wars in Mexico...;m;
Oh, so people just begin to learn more about themselves and each other and then they realize they aren't really very good as friends or something?
Ohhh...so the desire to fit in kinda goes with the fact that maybe your friends have changed and you don't want that change so you try to follow with them? Or something...O.o;
I don't think I've ever had the feeling of wanting to fit in! XD Maybe because I'm stubborn...? Or individualistic...
How are you guys who live there most of your life feel with new students?
Yeah, I've lived in this area my whole life. Once I moved a couple states away in 2nd grade, but came back later that year. :d
It's true, that can happen with some people. (Though not all people; some stay essentially the same.) You see how kids change over time.
For me, it's not quite as sudden as you're describing. xD When you get older, you notice people don't have the same morals or goals as you, so you don't connect as well with them. That's when friendships start to break away.
But I'm not the best example because I'm not very social. Sudden changes in opinions toward people do happen. My theory is peer pressure or the desire to fit in is commonly involved when people change suddenly.
Though in the case of Dare, he changes (in appearance) out of his own free will.
At one point while reading this I began to read Dare as 'Dan' for some reason...O.o;
Hey, have you lived in the same place all your life and gone to the same school with the same people? I always wonder what that's like to grow up with people...from what I hear from other people it's liiike they're friends in elementary school and then suddenly they're not, or that so-and-so was really nice and now they're mean or something....doesn't make sense to me...O.o;
