I just studied line in my art classes...;3; Well, except for my oil painting class...Actually we just studied how the lay the paint on the canvas in different techniques, which was quite helpful...No wait, we did learn a few things about color...I'm just ranting now! XD
I think learning about colour is especially helpful because it really gets the magic factor into drawings. Like the ones that I showed you before that looked almost rainbow in the random colours of the hair and shading etc....*3*
Thanks so much!! ;u; And I'll give that a try, sometime! I didn't do enough color exercises in my art classes. We worked a lot with black and white, so I understand value pretty alright... but it's hard to translate into color. orz
That pic of Noland looks really nice! I like the colours! Lulz, the eyepatch! XD If stuff like that, realism an all dat jazz (the colouring I mean), be a struggle-butt for you I would suggest doing a color study of a photo with a flat brush on 100% opacity. It is amazingly helpful because then you realize things about colours and shading and shapes that you never would've thought about before.
That chalk board drawing is CRAYZEH good. Holy crappp!! Chalk is totes super hard. I tried doing a similar thing one time...terrible results. Really great job on the hair! *3*
