Ah, the poster I just printed at FedEx. I've heard they're not the greatest for printing art prints, but hey they get the job done. xD
One of my friends really likes Stefan and Gabe, so she really liked/wanted the poster. xDD
I like how most of the pics in this post only have one eye! XD
Yeah that Gabe pic...maybe it's just that his eyes are low. He looks kinda chibi-ish in proportions I mean like he's getting a small transition into that area. Which isn't bad.
Also for Charlotte, maybe it's that her head is big. I think that is normal since most people with that hair style it makes them look shorter...which is super weird now that I think about it.
That poster is super cool? Did you have to print it at a special place? It looks pretty high quality! I do wonder what people think when they walk in your room though! XD
i lurve your art dumpssss. I cant wait to see Roy finished!!
YEah you gotta be careful when you print stuff. it's always good to brighten your image and boost the saturation, especially if it's got a lot of blues in it c:
Sure, I'll tell you what I can! :D Printing relies on the canvas size on your computer in pixels, relative to the dots per inch (dpi) resolution you print at.
When I make something for a print, I usually save my files at 300 dpi, and as .png files. What this means is that for every inch, the printer will print 300 dots (or pixels). The higher the dpi you save at, the higher quality the print will be. However, the higher the dpi you choose to use, the larger the canvas size you will have draw on. 300 dpi is about the smallest dpi you can get and still have a clear print.
I'm not sure where it is on other programs, but you can change the dpi on SAI by going to "canvas >> change resolution" on the top menu.
to determine your canvas size in pixels, multiply the dpi you choose by the size you want your print to be in the real world. For instance, I wanted my drawing to be 11 inches by 17 inches (which is a fairly standard print size). That means my canvas size on my computer had to be 300 times that--3300 pixels by 5100 pixels.
It's good to determine what size you want your prints to be in inches so your canvas on the computer is the correct size. For example, if I draw something and want to print it, but it's only 900 pixels by 900 pixels, the print will only be 3 inches squared. You can make it bigger by lowering the dpi, but as a consequence the print will be lower quality.
I print my stuff at FedEx. If you save your file on a flash drive, you can give them the flash drive and they'll print it for you. I think the paper I use is labeled "gloss," from the "professional" selection of papers. An 11 by 17 print is around 3 dollars to print.
FedEx doesn't print perfectly, but it's good enough for me haha. xD;
HOPE THIS ISN'T TOO CONFUSING!! Sorry if you already knew some of this stuff, I wasn't sure how detailed to be. ;u;/

How did you get your drawing printed out in that size? I'd like to know because I'm trying to learn how to make prints of my art.
