._. i should.... just not read stuff that confuses me huh? i'd sound less like an idiot and less insulting >>;;;;;;
i'm sorry alla... i thought you meant drawing though ;_;
When I say "sketch" about something I'm doing, it almost always refers to a work of fiction, and not visual art. Sorry. =P
There are two names for my species. The first is the name they use for themselves: V'nothrians, or "those of V'nothar", who was the first leader of their kind.
The second, and the easier to say, is allamorph. It's greek in origin, meaning "to alter form", or "shapeshifter", and is kind of a scientific derogatory. (Which means that scientists use it, but someone came up with it as kind of an insult.)
Actually, a lot of historical periods get their names from derogatory remarks. The people in the Classical period of music (which didn't have a name at the time) called the people before them "baroque", which literally means "without structure". Composers of the Classical period were fascinated and almost obsessed with structure and order in their music, and found the lack of it completely apalling.
My hopes are crushes because you didn't finish your artwork-
I hate the way i get ideas... it makes it impossible to watching horror movies ;_;
meaning i get scared even at little things....... rahhhh lol
You lost me with that second paragraph ._. what does that have to do with getting ideas...?
ohhhh
>.> i thought you just made up the name allamorph, i didn't think it came from anything.
wait.............. i thought that was animorphs
... you've completely lost me @_@ sorry alla
Outliving everyone around really would darken a person, no matter what kind of personality he'd started out with.
Yeah, and that is reflected a lot in my Blue Druid, whom I posted of back on Tesser from that character tag-thing that went around. The Nephilim also face the same kind of issue, I think, but having some companionship would soften the harshness of passing time, I think.
There's only one or two Nephilim who'll face that issue, I believe. The others in the same position will be able to handle it, I think. We'll see.
It's mainly because people grow through trials, and not peace. And I think you'll find that a common theme in stuff I do. My characters, by and large, are defined by the ordeals they experience and overcome, or sometimes the ordeals they face on a daily basis. Sure, a good many of them are at peace with themselves, but internal conflict does not necessitate internal turmoil, and one can face a particularly dark or unseemly side of oneself without needing to question one's identity.
Not that I don't have a few who have such internal turmoil. Just, I don't find that everyone has it.
No one in my family does, at any rate. So I think it's safe to stretch the concept to other people besides myself.
That's a beautiful animal. It's fascinating how the human mind makes different connections, isn't it?
Outliving everyone around really would darken a person, no matter what kind of personality he'd started out with. My great-grandmother had to watch her granddaughter and then her daughter die. She gave up on life about a year later. Seeing even more than that disappear? It'd feel like a curse.
Wonderful character concept. =D And I'm not being sarcastic. It's how the person deals with his affliction that makes him who he is.

Call me twisted, but I'm one for abusing characters for some odd reason. I mean, I would never want anything like that to happen to myself, but the complexities of such a character's depth, state of mind and development makes me go all Writing Otaku for some reason.
Hm. A human companion. Sounds like you can take that to interesting levels if you work on it... unless it just sort of slaps you like this tiger seemed to. For some reason I'm thinking "outcast human ward", but I'm sure you'll ultimately come up with something better. ^_^'
The picture is also on the Tiger wiki, under variations.
I'm pleased you like the characterisation, because quite honestly I think it's one of the sadder ones I have. His personality and outlook are mostly subdued, probably because he had to live with the stigma of failing to complete one of the most defining moments of his life . . . and of course having to see all your friends die off tends to distance you from people a bit.
I see a companion for him at some point, human, I think, but the image is unclear.
I remember seeing this picture before. You probably showed it off during Chat or something, which really doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but I'm glad you made some use out of it. The characterization of this future-oracle makes me grin madly. Heh.
Speaking of "black" panthers, I remember seeing a photograph of one (leopard variety, I believe) in a magazine or something where I could actually see the black rings against the rest of the midnight-blue coat. It's kind of funny how that all works.

Same goes for Impressionism in art.
