Oh yeah, hi...
First off: happy new year and all that jazz.
I'm sorry I've been... well not so much avoiding so much as forgetting about this blog. I tend to have a narrow focus so if I don't think of a post I don't post type-of-situation. Luckily (unluckily?) there is a new Kingdom Hearts game coming out in about a week so... expect more recaps. Also I think I have been recruited for a Kingdom Hearts website (yeah that's how iffy it is) that a friend of mine is trying to throw together. I dunno what exactly the website is gonna center around other than being Kingdom Hearts based. Seriously I have no idea what he wants to do with this thing but... looks like I'll be roped in. So when that gets up and moving expect a link.
Now I'm off to be a good friend and listen to Katana's podcast. Which I'm 99.999999999% sure will be a hoot and a riot so ya'll should check it out too. Here's the link. Yeah, now you don't have an excuse not to listen to it. So... there.
Kingdom Hearts 3D News
So Nomura just loves having interviews doesn't he? This time it's about Kingdom Hearts 3D, the game they're currently working on for the Nintendo 3DS. Here's the highlights:
- Both Sora and Riku will be playable, hopefully showcasing their different fighting styles
- There is a reason (story wise) for why Sora and Riku are in their KH1 outfits
- The gameplay system is complete so either they've been working on this game for awhile or they're reusing a past battle system
- KH 3D will use ALL new Worlds.
- There's a deeper meaning to the '3' in the title than just it having 3d elements
Well I'm glad we're getting back to the main trio (Kairi will have to be involved someway right?) and that we'll get to play as Riku (which makes most of my predictions a while back correct) but I wish Nomura would stop kicking ideas around and get cracking on KHIII. I know it won't go into production until Versus is finished but... AUGH nonetheless. How big of a gap was it between the release of 1 and 2? Four or five years? Now to go ruminate over BBS some more...

Predictions and Roundup
So, hello been awhile hasn't it? The massive Birth by Sleeping posting is now finished and done with but I really didn't do a sum up, now did I? First things first, pretty proud of myself for finishing the whole write-up. I didn't finish the 358/2 Days write up and I wish I had. So, yay me.
Final BBS reaction? Aqua is love. Terra is an idiot and Ven is annoying. Vanitas and Braig are going to enter into a polyandrous marriage with me and we can high five each other nightly. BBS is a jumping off point for the series (duh), a nice treat for loyal fans, but will ultimately make you miss our beloved trio and even wish for Donald and Goofy. The game play is amazing, and the cutscenes are done nicely but will leave you with a sour taste in your mouth because YOU KNOW THIS IS ALL GOING DOWN HILL. You'll fall in love but after the 358/2 mega-hurt that was Xion, if you're like me, you'll have learned not to throw yourself into a relationship with doomed characters too fast so the hurt isn't so bad.
Now from my understanding KH: Coded comes out in a few days over in Japan which means we'll probably get in around spring time? I didn't look too much into Coded because it was a cell phone game (now being converted to DS) so now that it's coming out over here in the near future my knowledge of the game is somewhat lacking. I think it has something to do with the letter at the end of KHII and there's a Data!Sora (who looks like KHI Sora) and stuff happens? The important part being that it takes place after KHII.
Then there KH: 3D which I honestly have NO idea how it fits into the game's time line. You can play as both Riku and Sora and they're in KHI gear so... when is there time for this? Maybe during KHI? Maybe it's another memory thing? I just don't know.
THEN there's KHIII! Which... is currently floating around Nomura's head because of effing FFVerusesXIII. SERIOUSLY WHEN WILL THIS GAME BE DONE?! I don't even want to play it I just want it to be over with so KHIII development can start. SO what will that game be about? It's supposed to be the end of the Xehanort saga (oh god I still know how to write that name without looking it up). I read somewhere that Xehanort will be back? As in Dead!Ansem (Seeker of Blahblah) + Dead!Xemnas = Xehanort coming back to life. Which means... MAYBE WE SHALL BE SEEING OTHER CHARACTERS! Yes you know exactly who I'm thinking of. I doubt it but... the team does love themselves some Axel/Lea. ALSO: I predict we will be seeing the Birth by Sleep trio again! With Xehanort back from the dead Terra can be saved and Sora can bust Aqua out and then they can wake Ven up. Also: Maybe a Pixar world? Also: CAN WE PLEASE HAVE PARTY OF SORA/KAIRI/RIKU?! Also: I will be upset if Riku or Kairi gets left on the islands. Riku's more likely to come along than Kairi but... LET KAIRI GO WITH! Seriously can you imagine if they boys ditch her again?
Also... I love this series. Hopefully next time I post I won't be bugging ya'll with Kingdom Hearts stuff.
