Dood, that's not selfish. Are they the ones wanting you to have a cell phone? Cause you mentioned you don't like them, so it makes me wonder why you have one in the first place...I know you said it was a birthday present and all, but...Anyways, if they really WANT you to have a cell phone, they should be the ones to buy it for you. If you don't want one, don't go buy one yourself. If they complain that you don't have one, bring that point up.
