I have a 3 year old Creative Zen and it works just fine with it. It has a double end headphone jack, so I'm pretty sure you could even hook it up with a tape/cd player and it'd still work.
Picture's up. He's sooo cute, he bobs his head along to the music and his shell lights up. I think I might name him Riku seeing as how my Zen is Sora and my giant headphones are Roxas.
