For a bit more detailed examination of the characters from the book:
- Famine (aka Dr. Raven Sable) is first seen as a billionaire businessman who created a line of food substitutes with no real nutrition in them.
- Pollution (aka Whitey or Chalky) is a pale, nondescript young man who causes disasters and leaves pollution and garbage in his wake. He also took over from Pestilence, who retired after the discovery of penicillin.
- War (aka Scarlet or Red) is first seen as an arms dealer and later as a war correspondent. Her mere presence causes conflict, even in the most peaceful countries.
- Death... well, he's pretty self-explanatory.

Just checking, are these generic versions of the Four Horsemen, or are they a specific version? I don't think I would have ever pictured Famine as a smarmy dude in a goatee.
Then again, the Marvel version of them has probably stapled any possible image I'll ever have of them ever again.
