This is about the best thing I've read in a while, very amusing. But you are definitely right about the show. It can all be explained by two words, Chuck Norris. That's really all that needs to be said. Schultzie's right ya know, he is all powerful. Dare I? No I really shouldn't, not on theO, this isn't WoW after all, but... Before each filming of Walker: Texas Ranger, Chuck Norris is injected with five times the lethal dose of elephant tranquilizer. This is, of course, to limit his strength and mobility, in an attempt to lower the fatality rate of the actors he fights.
There, now that that's out of my system. Thanks for posting timechaser! I enjoyed.
Forget that it isn't actually filmed in Dallas. Suspend your disbelief. I'm just talking about the universe in which the series is set, not about anything in actual reality ^^
Oh I know... the problem is that I've lived in both Dallas and in California... so I can't help but snicker when I see Walker using a call box on the LBJ in Dallas when that said call box is on the Interstate in LA. :p It's a knee jerk reaction when you've actually been at both locations physically.
I kind of wish it was filmed on location because I love Dallas. ^_^ Though if they did that... nothing would be in easy traveling distance anymore... Texas is it's own country when it comes to travel. o_O
And yes! I know you are poking fun at the universe in question! :p
I think certain things - limitless ammunition, bad guys being unable to hit the side of a barn - are elements you can find any just about any medium of entertainment ^^
The almighty Chuck Norris bends the laws of nature and likewise. Yet again.
Does anyone notice how like this list is to many things that occur in animes with guns/mucho amounts of violence? (Except, of course, the 'not-really-Dallas' Dallas within walking distance of wherever the Rangers are needed, occurs for the area that the hero is in, and the "Freeze! Texas Rangers!" thing doesn't apply for any animes that I know of.)
Coincidence? Or not? (Perhaps, it's just the abilities of TV programs.)
Dang it, Timechaser, now the theme song is going to be stuck in my brain!! But, nonetheless, I think Walker Texas Ranger owes its infanite 'coolness' [or lack of said 'coolness'] to Chuck Norris.

Oh the show known as Walker, Texas Ranger... Problems to be noted:
1) Any location in Dallas is within easy traveling distance from wherever he happens to be.
Walker needs to actually be in Dallas Texas to start with. *snort* The joys of television, opening shots of the city are all we need! Gods that show makes me laugh with the things and places they go to that don't exist in Dallas. lol
- There is no such thing as "police brutality" in Texas.
See above point already made about location! :p
Anyway, I use to watch this show, if only for the lolwhat factor. Because it is fun to laugh at them having him do things that could only happen in California and not in Dallas Tx. :p And I do mean that literally.
Dont forget, its Chuck Norris, he is all powerful. He can bend the very fabric of space and time to his will, and allow him to show up just in time to deliver a roundhouse kick to a bad guy's face.

Hmm... I'm not quite sure whether to classify this as nerdly, cool, or hopeless. Hopefully it's not the latter.
Be true, be you and of course, be otaku.
