What is the Watercooler?

It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.

All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.

Korean Commercial Content Ahoy!

It doesn't get any more random than this.

Jeon Ji Hyun, star of the "well known enough that it's getting a US remake" South Korean film My Sassy Girl was once in a KFC commercial. And the other day I saw this commercial.

After seeing this very, very, very strange advert' . . . I'm now stuck trying to decide if seeing this kind of commercial over here would make me want to eat more KFC or less . . .

. . . seriously, I'm currently leaning towards the former. How messed up is that, hey?

And go look up My Sassy Girl some time. It's quite literally the Korean "Densha Otoko" story that also started on a message board. It's pretty cute, you'll like it. Also, if you don't hurry the only one you'll know about is the US remake (which could be good, but still).

theOtaku.com Anime Podcast IV - Ep. 18

We got a great show this week with Batou. Ichigo is now in Japan and we'll probably hear from him next week.

Does this show need spamming? I think it does. So head over to the podcast and listen, then come back here to spam.

OK then.

Vancouver Convention Got Complciated

In case it gets missed by people who swing through just here for news: the Vancouver convention, Anime Evolution, got postponed due to a massive scheduling conflict/oversight.

So yeah. The congoers are more than a little upset about this one . . .

Here's hoping for a speedy resolution and a new venue sooner than later.

Chat Rooms?

Im sure by now, people have read the post that Adam made about Otaku chat rooms. Like he said, I think this thing is going to need careful, strict moderation. But I know the people at the site can pull it off, there are good otaku on call to make sure people dont fuck it up for the majority.

Im interested to see its progression.

Thoughts?

And just to be silly

What is with people nowadays?

For some reason, I think political elections go way too far.

And here's why:

  • People start to become (slightly) racist.
  • People keep pestering others to vote for someone.
  • Fights soon errupt.
  • Too many predjudiced ads in newspapers, Internet, and television.

Now, I know what everyone is going to say. "Just ignore it" or "Who cares?" But, still, I think politics are just an excuse to start an evil government and populus.

What would you do to stop local political predjudice in your area?
