What is the Watercooler?

It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.

All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.

Top Gear - Race Across Japan

In typical Top Gear fashion, Jeremy, James and Richard have a challenge. Jeremy must race his co-hosts across Japan in a Nissan GT-R, while they take the ultra-high speed bullet train.

Who will be the first to reach the Buddha of Road Safety? Will it be Jezzer and his Japanese sat-nav girlfriend Amy? Or the handicapped dynamic duo of Hamster and Captain Slow?

Yes, I know this is long, but hey, Watercooler posting has dropped off dramatically since Halloween ended. We need a jump-start!

Movie Sign #114 - Gamera vs. Gaos

What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.

What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.

Next Episode
You know what? I don't even feel the need to type a description for this one. It's Gamera, the turtle-version of Godzilla, and he fights a monster named Gaos that came forth from a volcano. They fight, the military proves ineffective, and they fight some more. You know what you're getting in to with this one.

Host Segment Highlights
Joel can't be blamed for being annoyed at the 'bots for imitating raspy-voiced characters, and for ruining his attempt at teaching us how to make a Gaos. Then his chance for being on the Ed Sullivan Show gets ruined. And hey, do you have any better ideas for getting rid of the monster?

Whether a seasoned vet or new meat, we invite you all to come on down! Movie starts at 8pm EST/5pm PST, room opens at the :30 beforehand.

The password for the room is itchy. Be ready to go and find the video here!

So come on down and start answering the little survey by clicking the link below:

NOTE: Some of you probably know where this survey will lead to. If you're one of them, please keep the cat in the bag for now, okay?
