It's a haven in the middle of a harsh, 9-to-5 world. A place where you can gather with your fellow human beings and bond over a paper cup full of cool refreshment.
All sorts of randomness is welcome here. Post pictures, videos, special Chat information, or just discuss news and current events.
More than a year ago, I mentioned here in The Watercooler about how Frank Sinatra's rendition of My Way has triggered a lot of killings here in my country, the Philippines.
Well, guess what. The New York Times has caught up with this odd phenomena that still occurs to this day. Quite odd to see it get this much attention just recently, when this has been happening for years already.
Moral of this story: If you can't sing well, it's best to leave The Chairman of the Board himself to do the singing.
And so I did it my way. (But not the one in the highway.)
Well, since it's All Souls Day right now, I've decided to post a little challenge for all of you.
1. Again, since it's All Souls Day, my video feature will feature a very popular funeral song, "My Way" by Frank Sinatra.
2. Back in 1992, a teacher once reported that when he played Frank Sinatra tunes during an after-school detention, the punk & rap music-inclined students considered listening to the Sinatra pieces as punishment. (News archive link.) So, my challenge for you is to LISTEN THE WHOLE SONG. No pause, no stops. Listen to all 4 minutes and 31 seconds of the song.
3. In the Philippines, Sinatra's "My Way" has been known to have led to several killings at karaoke bars because one guy sang the song out-of-tune. (News link.) So my challenge is not just listen to the song but to SING THE WHOLE SONG. Don't worry, lyrics have been provided in the video (along with some anime pictures). And if you sing well or just lucky, you'll make it out alive.
So are you tough enough to take the challenge? Click the PLAY button and let the challenge begin.
P.S. See, I've sang this song several times and I'm still alive. Aside from jomz shooting me in chat for singing it there...How was the challenge for you?
