Why do you say that? I don't really have a problem with this now. ^^ Like I've been telling others, I'd rather have shorter waits between batches of episode rather than the super-long waits we've usually had until Christmas and then the next season. -3-
Waiting week by week was hard enough. Now I'm going to have to suffer the ending of one semester, then summer, and then be dead in ANOTHER semester until I see the resolution?
Dammit Moffat, I don't care how epic it is, unless you're pumping out 26 episodes instead of 13. Aghghffff. *flails*
Wait a second... are we talking about the same episode...?
*checks title*
*facepalms*
Planet of Evil. '._.' CURSE YOU SIMILAR NAMING THEMES. It's almost as bad as episodes with "Dalek" in the name. ;A;
OH! And on another note that hopefully doesn't make me look like a retard! I saw a fan trailer of the Dalek movie that had Cribbins as a younger man in it. He looks funny. ._.
Less wait time is always good. I might start to warm up to the idea if that's the case!
Oh oh, that's fine! I actually completely forgot about it. xD; If it's not too much trouble, could you upload it? If not, I'll just look around for it. I have the Sherlock unaired pilot, The Making of Sherlock, and The Great Game commentary for you (I'm still waiting on the Study in Pink commentary). ^^
I may have given it to you, but I personally dislike the episode. :P I consider it the "fluff filler" special, not really as important as The Waters of Mars or The End of Time.
I think in this case, it's more for the impact of whatever the surprise will be at the end of Ep 7. I'm sure they'll go ahead and film the entire season in one go (maybe spreading it out a bit more now that they'll have more time). Moffat's probably just adopting the format of the mid-season split (which we have in a lot of shows over here) without the actual film-air-film-air deal. I dunno, just my guess for now. ^^
It's possible that it's also designed not to conflict with Sherlock, but like you said, it's a format a lot of shows here in the US follow, so it's not something too out of the ordinary for us. ^^
I'm actually warming up to the idea, because I wouldn't mind a split if it meant less wait time for new episodes. :D
Oh, and sorry, I didn't get back to your PM. >3< I could find You Tube links for the movie, but I'm not sure it would be complete (when Kat watched it, there was a part missing). Or would you prefer me to upload it? :3
I really dislike mid-season splits. And normally they aren't for the sake of story telling but more of a "mid season replacement does well" type of thing or "holy crud people like this show, we gotta make more episodes quick!" situation. Still I'd rather watch a whole season then be forced to wait a few months for a cliffhanger... cliffhangers work even if you only have to wait a week or two for the resolution.
Also... if it leaves off on a cliffhanger and picks up again with the resolution that's not really a finale and a premiere... :T Also I have no desire whatsoever for a Doctor Who Easter... unless it involves the Eater Beagle.

So it's going to be in the Spring, and then comes back in the Fall? Going on hiatus over the summer? That's what Fringe does, except it goes on a huge hiatus over the winter. I hate that. But maybe it'll be different for Doctor Who, I dunno.
I know he said he wanted to put a big cliffhanger in the middle, but I wonder if he's trying to make a bit more room for Sherlock too? I know the next three episodes are supposed to come out in Autumn of 2011.
Speaking of which, I have links for you after Movie Sign.

OK, I probably will. But this is still better than waiting 2/3 of a year between seasons. XP
