Kasa got me the first book for my birthday a year or two ago, and I just got around this summer to starting on the rest of them. It has a fantastic story, but waaaaay too much blood, sex, and violence.
I thought about watching the show once....but then my brother showed me a scene of a fight.

So yeah. If you decide to check it out, I'd recommend starting off with the books. From there you can decide if you can handle the show (which apparently plays up the nudity and is quite graphic both with violence and sex).
