Perhaps the meaning of life isn't as grand as we think it is, perhaps it's as simple as another animal's, to simply survive. But as humans, we have emotions, a LONG lifespan and are easily bored, we've done and are doing whatever amuses us or makes life more enjoyable, for some, it's finding or looking for the meaning of life, for others, it's anything you can think of. Perhaps we're already completing the meaning of life itself by simply surviving.

It has to have a meaning doesn't it? If it didn't, it would be like reading a book that didn't have an ending. It just stopped suddenly. I honestly think, that depending on the person, the ending of the story can either be something epic enough to leave a mark on this world, or they can simply disappear. Of course as I said, it all depends on the individual. Of course, that's just this philosopher's opinion.
Hey, I guess your the first one! The meaning of life? Thats a tough one. I could just say that old line "Life is what you make it" or I could give a literal definiton but whats the point in that? Personally, I view humans and other creatures as equals in all senses. We are just inhabitents of this planet that can support life, and a human is no different or better than a lowly worm. This is one of my views of religion: Humans who believe in a religion that is founded on the basis of eternal life or rebirth of the spirit are selfish because they want an excuse to live forever, an idea of cheating death. Since I am Athiestic, people think they can trip me up by asking simple questions like "what happens whenyou die?" and expect me to contradict myself because they always think I don't know anything about religion... they're wrong. I give them this answer to the what happens question: "When I die, it's going to be the same thing if a worm is stomped on or if a dog gets hit by a car, my heart will stop beating, my brain will go dead, and the lights will go out." One person asked me how I can deal with that being all there is to life, I simply said:"Because I can handle it."
