When you do it, please mention the perfects, and please stress the importance of holding a certain tense through certain passages for the sake of continuity.
I say this because I fight to stay in past perfect during flashback scenes sometimes. It's sneaky, it is.
Ehh, as long as it takes to get your point through. I dunno, take a read through the past ones, maybe they'll give you an idea of about how long people write these - I'm probably the worst, rambling more than the others.
But, for ballparking . . . Beck's last thing was about 800 words, mine was about 1100 . . . oh hey, Shinmaru's guest thing was 1300 . . . Katana's guest one was less than 700 . . . so yeah, you've a fair breadth, I hope.
But yeah, if the ideas all line up for ya, just say the word!
We're a collection of all kinds of writers, both "creative" and formal/academic. I tend to do a lot more grammar/language based stuff, but Becky's a far better creative writer than I am; we still do both, though, so it's all good. And yeah, don't worry about any bad connotations with the word "creative". We getcha.
We haven't done "voice" in essays yet, no. That could make for a pretty good one, though! Were you wondering/asking about good ideas about it, or did you have thoughts that you wanted to share on the subject? If it's the latter, this Tuesday's slot is open right now if you wanna do a guest post about it.
Regarding your other question, no we haven't done that one yet either - this is actually a pretty young world only a few weeks old, so there's still plenty we can cover in the time ahead.
