We already talked about it the other night, but just as a thing you can check back on . . . try thinking up a simple story idea first, and then work from there. Most people write really short responses, so they're never anything too fancy - just a means to get writing and all.
Another easy way would be maybe . . . write them from a journal/personal stance? I remember a good response that came out of just talking about a lightning storm the person had gone through some months back. In that way, you don't have to so much think up a story as you just have to describe a story that you already know.
'Plane' either refers to the kind that you fly in, or any flat surface. 'Plain' is either something that's completely obvious, or a flat stretch of land.
I can see how the second definitions would be easy to confuse, so think of it this way, I guess: a plane could be talking about any flat surface, like a countertop, a floor, or a shape. Plain is, as far as I know, exclusive to geography and pieces of land.
I can't think of a good memory trick for that, though... I'll comment back later if I think of something.

What are some easy ways to remember plane and plain? I always get them backwards.
