I enjoy reading third-person books, so I guess that's why I've always written in third-person. I've only tried to write in first-person a few times before, and I've always ran into problems with it.
Thanks for posting the question for me James! I really appreciate it! :P
Hehe. Hey Trip', welcome to the mostly on hiatus Bloc. But hey, I still get comment blips, so it's all good.
Question may be random, but it's fair. As for a good answer, well, I can't really say I have one. There's no real "this would make a good first-person, and this would make a good third-person". Personally, I think you're actually pretty gutsy to default to third-person when others would do the opposite.
Y'know what? I'm gonna make a post for ya. Let people see the question and let them get in on it. Let's see what everyone has to say!

This is a bit random, but I just stumbled upon this World and figured I should ask a question. I'll try to word the question the best I can.
When starting a new piece of writing, how should you decide whether to write in first person or third person? I often write in third person, but then wonder whether the story would move along better in first.
I'd be happy to keep posting them! Though I'll be leaving tonight for a semester overseas. But once I get settled in, I should be able to post them once a week again. :D
I am relieved to see this place is still alive and was just wondering if those writing prompts would be coming back sometime? I would love a chance to do another one of those and practise the commas again ~ Winks ~

I'm willing to start my updates again, though they'll be pretty sporadic.

I told you, I can do news/magazine feature writing features. Yes, I know I said feature writing features.
I can also do Public Relations (PR) writing workshops for how to promote an anime club, event, con panel, etc.
