>DISTRACTED<

Silence and Darkness followed. All of a sudden I felt warm arms around me, stroking my arms. My eyes opened when I felt the ground fall from beneath me.
“Thank god you’re alive!” Natalie, who was holding me said full of joy. Tears were flowing from her face. She thought I Was dead. I tried to speak, but it felt Impossible.
“I bet your wondering how I found out, right? Well, Acne-Man over there took your cell phone and dialed me, because I Was speed dial 1.” She set me down on a cold, hard bed. “Its an ambulance. I guess this ruins our plans for tonight.”
My face went apologetic. “S-so…ry.” I Managed to mumble out.
“Its okay sweet-pea. We have a week till the contest, right? So we can go anytime.” She smiled as they wrapped belts around my arms. “May I ride with her? I’m her girlfriend, and I think she needs the support.” She asked the lady in the uniform. I think she nodded as they continued to wrap belts around me. I hated this part.
I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve been in an ambulance. I guess that’s what happens when you have a chronic heart condition. My brother has never seen it happen before, so I Could only imagine how big of a shock he was in. I Closed my eyes as they lifted me into the back of the medical-mobile.
My brother and Natalie climbed in. Natalie stroked my face, noticing how nervous I was. “You’re going to be okay.” She whispered.
The paramedic asked the usual questions, if I could remember the date, my name, what might’ve happened to me to provoke this. They took me back to the hospital, and ran some tests, and then I was out by seven-thirty tops.
“Hey, we still have some time to go out and have a bit of a good time...” I said over the loud music in Natalie’s car.
“Who say’s we have to go out? I Kind of feel like just picking up some Chinese food, renting a movie and heading back to my apartment.” She suggested. She was my age, but her parents were pretty wealthy, and paid for her to live on her own in the city.
“Yeah, that sounds nice.” I Smiled.
We rented one of my Favorite movies, and got 50 dollars worth of Chinese food. We sat on her couch with our little takeout boxes and splintered chopsticks. I curled into her after we ate.
“I was actually scared that I had died.” I said, referring to earlier.
“There’s nothing to be scared about Death,” She whispered as I lay in her arms, “It peaceful, kind of like right now, but without any distractions.”
“Distractions?” I Asked her. She giggled a bit.
“Yeah, Distractions. Like those gorgeous blue eyes of yours, or that short blonde hair.” She smiled as she complemented me, “Or, I guess me talking is a bit of a distraction…”
“That’s something about death that’s worthy of being scared of…” I kissed her sweetly.
“Shh...” She whispered in my ear as she stroked my hair, trying to put me to sleep.
I didn’t let her, though. I lifted myself to her face, and kissed her passionately. We spent the rest of the night together, Blending our hearts, and bodies, together.
