Hmm, I like that. I've always kinda thought, maybe people look to 'god' because they just want to know that there is something bigger out there that is responsible for bad things happening to them, rather than themselves. It's like always having a parent, or someone to look up to, so they'll never be alone. I'm an agnostic myself, coming from a Christian family. So, I know what they're outlook is, but that's probably a little different from others, huh? ^_^ Oh well, whatever works to help each individual get through life, huh?
Thanks for your comments. They've helped, definitely. ^_^ I'm glad to know I have others I can rely on for advice.
~I’m not a religious person either. I think one is stronger if they can bear their own responsibility without organized religion. There are no outs, no chants or psalms to brush away the sins.
~Whatever you choose for your sis, you’ll be helping her. She may listen, or not. At least you tried, right? Good luck. I’ll be here!
Well, I've decided that I'm going to skip confronting my sister altogether and just tell my parents. I mean, my sister doesn't have respect for me as it is, I doubt she'd take anything I tell her to heart. And, remembering the classes I took in high school, which she's also taken by now, they were showing us scary outcomes of drug addicts, smokers, and so forth then... if they didn't scare her then, I don't think they'll work as well now... they might take SOME bearing, but I'm willing to bet she'd go right back to smoking.
I appreciate the help and advice, though. I really do! I do need all the help I can get. I might not be very religious at all, but my righteous morals and knowing of what's wrong and right is very strong. So, I'd like to get her off this path in some way. And, my parents will be stronger in that field than I could ever be.
I know you feel bad for your mom, but that shouldn't stop you talking to your sis about her problem. You might be able to help her before something really bad happens to her. I know people only think about dying or getting arrested when talking about drugs. Remember to mention things like unwated pregnancy, AIDS, or accidently killing someone else? There are a million ways drugs can ruin her life.
