Good Japanese word usage for your title. However, just because I like spreading the Japanese love, I'd like to tell you an even more correct (and informal thus friendly) way of saying "Today was fun".
"Kyou wa tanoshikatta." Or you could say "Kyou wa tanoshii deshita." the latter being more formal. However, your's was fairly accurate.
Anywhooooo I'm glad you had a great day. It's always fantastic to catch a special smile from an important person in your life. Makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.
And go adorable little Sakura and Syaoran lookalikes! I want one! lol.
